Levels look pretty impressive.
Before I get stuck into this preview I must admit that I'm not a Warhammer 40,000 (or Warhammer 40k for short) fan. In fact I know very little about it so if you pick up some factual errors please don't hound me (but if you let me know I'll fix them up!). I am looking at this game purely from a gamers perspective and in all honesty this looks like a great title.

In terms of storyline and setting gamers will play as the elite Space Marines of the Ultramarines chapter and strive to combat the encroaching evil of the ruthless and daemonic influenced Chaos Space Marines through 13 cinematically-tied missions.

Graphics look pretty nice.
Much like the board game this title uses a turn based system for the action. Split across 15 missions (or 13 - depending where you get your info from!), the single player campaign features fully destructible 3D battlefields. It will be possible to select from over 20 ranged and close combat weapons taken directly from the Warhammer 40,000 universe including the Bolter, Plasma Gun, Chainsword and Power Fist. Doesn't mean anything to you? Well me either but from what we've seen it all adds up to a great amount of variety.

Looks like another big bang!
Multi-player will be supported in the game with up to 8-player able to battle it out. The multi-player modes will use Gamespy online, adn will include 9 unique multi-player maps of different sizes. Players can choose from three Space Marine chapters or three Chaos Space Marine Legions to play as in Multiplayer games, in battles between Imperium vs. Imperium, Forces of Chaos vs. Forces of Chaos, or Imperium vs. Forces of Chaos.

While I'm not a follower of the Warhammer 40,000 universe I am quite excited about this game. It looks sharp, has some pretty impressive features, and should play quite well indeed. The game is currently targeted to a mid-November release, let's hope it makes it out and puts another feather in the PSP's cap.
