Some more wonderful visuals.
Tiger Woods may be struggling on the course at the moment (well for the last couple of years actually) in his videogame remains the undisputed champion on all platforms. With the PSP launch in September Electronic Arts are preparing to release Tiger Woods PGA Tour (interestingly the game won't have a year after it unlike it's bigger brothers). Create your own golfer, develop your skills, and step on to the green to challenge the masters on the world’s top courses. Play against Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Jack Nicklaus, and Arnold Palmer, in an effort to become a golfing legend.

Goes for the putt.
The PSP version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour is choc full of features to keep you playing for weeks on end. The bulk of the game will occur through the career mode. In this mode gamers can create a golfer and build his skills in order to compete against the pros from past and present in match play events, tournaments and challenge modes, proving you’ve got what it takes to become a legend of the game. Gamers will be very pleased to hear that EA's Gameface - the component where you can create your character - has made the transition to the PSP game as well.

St Andrews course selection.
The game includes 12 courses in total including the Sherwood Country Club, St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Harbor Town, and Paradise Cove among others.

Of course multi-player is going to play a big part with any PSP titles with Sony keen to make use of the systems Wi-Fi capabilities. Indeed Tiger Woods PGA Tour will include 5 game modes including the very strange Bingo Bango Bongo which we honestly have no idea about as well as the standard Strokeplay, Matchplay, Skins, and Long Drive Shootout. If you only have one PSP unit in the house you will still be able to compete with up to 4-players as well, obviously having to toss the unit around the room.

Tiger lines up with the 5-iron.
With the power of the PSP the development team at EA Canada has been able to make use of the assets from the console versions of the game. You can certainly see the detail in the screens surrounding this preview - it's extremely impressive. The game also uses EA Pocket Trax which is basically the PSP version of the EA Trax found in most other EA titles across all platforms. It will be interesting to see if the number of tracks is limited by the 1.8GB capacity of the UMD although the developers are including a tonne of commentary as well.

Expect a release for Tiger Woods PGA Tour around the console's launch in September.
