Hang on to that chopper.
I guess there was no surprise when Activision announced that they would be bringing Sony's biggest movie franchise at the moment to the Playstation 2, nor that it would be a launch title. Spider-man 2 was a great game on Playstation 2 and its transition to PSP looks equally impressive as it takes Spider-man's adventures beyond those seen on the silver screen with all new location and all new enemies to defeat - just have a look at the third picture down here!

Taking on Doc Ock.
This Time. There Is Nowhere You Can't Go. Two years have passed since Peter Parker first hit the streets of New York City as the conflicted crime-fighter Spider-Man. Now he finds himself battling his most diabolical villain yet, the mechanized, multi-tentacled Doc Ock. The nefarious Doc Ock was once Dr. Otto Octavius, a brilliant nuclear physicist. But a freak accident transformed him from a timid researcher to a criminally insane megalomaniac who blames Spider-Man for his horrible transformation. Now the scientist Peter once idolized for his remarkable intellect has marked our web-slinger for death.

Now he wasn't in the movie!
As Spider-Man, players must master new combo moves as they protect the city of Manhattan from the nefarious Doc Ock and other classic Marvel villains by swinging, jumping and wall-crawling through 19 new levels. Swing, climb and web-sling through interactive 3D environments while experiencing scenarios, settings and characters based on the hit film and others that are exclusive to the game. In addition to Doc Ock, gamers must battle a plethora of characters in Spider-Man’s legendary Rogue’s Gallery of villains, such as Mysterio, Rhino, Shocker and Vulture.

As well as Spider-Man’s signature set of moves which include wall crawling, web yanking and capture webbing, Spider-Man 2 PSP brings a host of new moves to the handheld such as the “cocoon,” “web net” and “heavy web ball.”

Soaring through the skies.
As you can see from the surrounding screenshots the PSP version of Spider-man 2 is shaping up very well indeed. The frame rate looks pretty good and the levels very detailed. You only need to look at the screenshot to the left here to see what I mean about the detail.

Spider-Man 2 looks like a superb title for fans of the web slinger. Some new features in this PSP game could even make it a worthwhile purchase for owners of other versions.
