Graphically Secret Agent Clank looks hot.
High Impact Games aren't a big company, but their one title to date has been a cracker. That game was Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters which is a fantastic action platform title based in the universe which Insomniac made famous on the Playstation 2. Secret Agent Clank is set following the events in Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters but prior to those that take place in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction on the Playstation 3 which, we must add, is an essential purchase. So what can we expect from this upcoming title?

Clank's on a mission. His best buddy, Ratchet, has been framed by a ruthless enemy and jailed for a crime he did not commit. Not only that, but Ratchet's maximum security prison is full of the universe's most dangerous criminals most of whom are lining up to personally 'welcome' Ratchet into his new cell. Luckily for Ratchet hes got Clank on the outside, and luckily for Clank hes the kind of brainy little robot who is cool under pressure and knows a thing or two about tracking down a mysterious enemy. That's why, as Secret Agent Clank, hes hot on the trail of clues to unravel the mystery and secure Ratchet's release from jail.

The game will include plenty of battles.
For the first time in the Ratchet & Clank universe gamers are given the chance to play the vast majority of the game as the wise-cracking Clank. We believe there will be at least one mission where you control the hapless Captain Quark, and possibly a level with Ratchet, although that hasn't been confirmed. Throughout the game you will unleash Clank's cutting edge array of weapons and gadgets, such as Cufflink Bombs, Tie-a-Rangs, Spy Sunglasses and the ever helpful Holo-Disguise Monocle. The game will combine several game modes from all-out action, to stealth, puzzle solving and more. Indeed as you can see in the screenshot above the game promises some snowboarding styled action (the game will allow Clank to drive vehicles including speedboats, snowboards and sports cars) and there will also be a mission where you have to break into a museum and even avoid laser beams.

Getting up close and personal.
As you can see from the surrounding screenshots Secret Agent Clank is a great looking game, and certainly has the potential to be one of the best on the platform. Locations are quite varied, and if High Impact Games improve on the quality of their previous game, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, then we're in for something very special. Naturally we also expect the game to be littered with cut-scenes, and we expect plenty of comedic moments as well.

We're pretty excited about this game hitting the PSP. It certainly looks like one of the most exciting games on the platform announced for release during 2008. High Impact Games have already delivered the goods with their previous game, and we expect this to be bigger and better then ever before. Expect a release in the second half of 2008.
