| Is that even a road! |
There is little doubt that when it comes to rally based racing games Codemasters Colin McRae Rally titles are the best there is. Very few games actually come close in terms of gameplay or options and despite Colin's retirement from the sport this game series looks set to continue for a long, long time. Now the game is coming to the Playstation Portable and promises to be every bit as exciting as the games on the Playstation 2, XBox and PC.

In terms of game modes the developers at Six By Nine, who are responsible for most Colin McRae titles in recent years are promising five environments from nine different countries. The game modes promised include 4WD Championship, Career Mode, Quick Race, Custom Rally, Stages, Multi-player mode.

| Prepare to head left. |
As expected Colin McRae Rally 2005's multi-player includes support for Wi-Fi on PSP. At this stage head-to-head racing has been confirmed but as for how many competitors Codemasters are remaining tight lipped, two is likely, but four or six is possible. Codemasters have announced that you will be able to send ghost cars and replays over Wi-Fi for others to compete against.

Graphically the game is looking pretty sharp. Even in the last couple of weeks since we got the last batch of screenshots the improvements seem quite remarkable with improved texturing and background detail. Let's hope the frame rate also impresses.
It remains to be seen if Colin McRae Rally 2005 manages to offer much new to the series. Possibly it won't matter as the legions of fans picking up a PSP will likely just enjoy being able to take the best rally game on the road with them.
