Well look at that... A company can keep a game secret prior to E3. Not only that but Watch Dogs was one of the most impressive looking games at the event with spectaular visuals, gameplay, audio and atmosphere. Ubisoft haven't confirmed as yet what platform the game runs on, however it appeared to be being played on a PS3 controller on the stage. Given the stunning visuals we wouldn't be surprised if it also makes an appearance on next-gen systems as well at some point - but that's pure speculation on our part.
So what's this game about? Well we don't know too much about the storyline as yet other then the games main character is Aiden Pearce and he has the ability to use technology to assist in his mission.
Running on a PC, the visuals are stunning.
Admittedly we don't know a massive amount about this game other then what we saw in the stunning 10 minute E3 demo (which you can view below). In this demo the games main character needs to sneak into a club, but doesn't want/need to line up. Noticing the bouncer is on his mobile a quick electric pulse renders his phone inoperable, he walks off trying to get connection back, and Aiden can sneak in.
At a later moment he needs to create at traffic accident to stop his target and to do so he hacks the traffic lights turning them all green and causing a pileup at which time a third person shootout commences.
Watch Dogs is full of action.
As you can see from the surrounding visuals this really is an impressive game. It is believe the E3 demo was running on some moderately high-end PC, but the game has been confirmed as coming to the Playstation 3. If we're going to put some money on it we would suspect this game is coming to next-generation consoles too.
We really know so little about this game that it isn't funny but the super slick on-stage demo at E3 2012 showed a very polished, slick looking game that is going to grab plenty of attention. We'd love to tell you when it's out but Ubisoft have only given a vague 2013 - so we're suspect it will be late 2013 at the earliest.
Here's the trailer from E3 2012 showing off the impressive gameplay...
