It's the moon, with some feathers?
In the movie business a movies hype, and possibly success, can be attached to a director. Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, James Cameron and Peter Jackson are household names that can bring millions into the box office on their names alone. Now, try and name for me some game directors and producers that can do the same? Well how about Hideki Kamiya? No idea? C'mon, I thought you were gamers?

Hideki Kamiya has been responsble for (read: directed) games such as Resident Evil 2 (PSX), Devil May Cry (PS2), Viewtiful Joe (GC), and Okami (PS2). With that list of games to his credit is it any wonder we were excited to see him pop up at PlatinumGames, a new developer whose first four titles will be published by Sega. One of those first games is Bayonetta on the Playstation 3 (as well as XBox 360 and PC we might add).

Expect plenty of blood in the game.
As detailed in Sega's press release Bayonetta is a stylish and cinematic action game. A witch with powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals, Bayonetta faces-off against countless angelic enemies, many reaching epic proportions, in a game of 100% pure, unadulterated all-out action. Outlandish finishing moves are performed with balletic grace as Bayonetta flows from one fight to another. With magnificent over-the-top action taking place in stages that are a veritable theme park of exciting attractions, Bayonetta pushes the limits of the action genre, bringing to life its fast-paced, dynamic climax combat.

There is a lot we don't know about this game. Actually, we know almost nothing to be honest, but if it presents itself as another Devil May Cry styled title we won't complain. Expect a release in 2009, with plenty more information to be released in the coming months.
