Spyro looks pretty sharp.
Spyro is one of those characters that kids love - especially younger ones. He's bright and colourful, has a great personality and is always fun to watch. Fortunately the gameplay was also terrific as he ran around the levels dispatching enemies and saving the world. Spyro was one of the biggest characters on PSOne, and indeed his appearance on Playstation 2 is more then welcome. This Playstation 2 game is looking pretty sharp - certainly the graphics are among the most colourful yet seen on the console. Developers Eurocom are also including a strong storyline in Spyro: A Hero's Tale which is being scriped by Emmy Award-winning writer J. Stewart Burns.

The levels are very colourful.
Spyro must save the Dragon Realms from an evil dragon who has planted life-sapping dark gems all over the Dragon Realms in an attempt to capture and control the world. With the help of his allies, Spyro must seek out and destroy all of the Dark Gems to return the lands back to normal and to save the Dragon Realms from the evil dragonís tyrannical control. The fierce purple dragon will travel across dark, mysterious lands in which the environments shift from evil to good in real-time -- affecting enemies, music, lighting, objects, sky and more. Full of brand new dragon powers & abilities, gadgets, environments and 5 fully playable characters, A Heroís Tail is the greatest Spyro adventure ever!

Outfitted with mighty new abilities including the Wall Kick, Tail Swing and Ledge Grab, Spyro will fight his enemies with powered-up breath attacks -- burning opponents with Flame Breath, deep-freezing rivals with Freeze Breath, obstructing adversaries with Water Breath and destroying mechanical enemies with Electric Breath. In addition to playing as the heroic leader Spyro, gamers will also have the opportunity to play as weapons master Hunter the Cheetah, dive-bombing penguin Sgt. With over $11 million in retails sales, and 2003 being the biggest year for the character in terms of sales Spyro: A Hero's Tail looks like setting new heights for the character, and deservedly so. Unsurprisingly this game will be available in December - just in time for Christmas.
