Still early, but looking good.
Spyro is a series which has always been aimed at a younger audience, and with older gamers looking to the next generation now may be the time for the little purple dragon to really show his colours. His previous outings include 2002's Enter the Dragonfly and 2004's A Hero's Tail, both of which were solid titles, albeit not quite triple-A. This third game is getting a new developer too, Australia's own Krome Studios, who have developed the very impressive Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series for Electronic Arts and Activision.

Spryo takes flight.
This new title in Vivendi's series allows you to discover the origins of Spyro and learn how he became a living, breathing weapon! The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning explores the true origins of Spyro as you embark on a dangerous, combat-driven quest that will bring you face to face with the Dark Masterís ultimate creation, Cynder. We're certain to here a lot more about the story closer to release, but I certainly wouldn't expect a masterpiece in this area. Having said that there doesn't need to be, this game is all about the platforming and action.

Now that's one big enemy!
Vivendi have promised that with Spyro we will be able to unleash devastating fury attacks, upgradeable breaths & ground to aerial melee combos in a frenzied battle with hordes of menacing enemies and bone-chilling bosses. We also believe that the game will include more flying sections then in the past - as is evidenced by the screenshot above. Vivendi have also promised that the game will utilize the voice talent of some of Hollywood's finest actors - who exactly, remains to be seen.

Spiro gets his flame off!
We haven't seen much of this game as yet except the few screenshots released by Vivendi just recently. Still the developers Krome Studios have a solid background with their Ty series and can certainly develop a solid engine for the title. With the colour and vibrancy of the series to add to their engine this is one game that should look the part.

There's still a long way to go in this title in terms of development. The game is currently schedule for release in late October, just in time for Christmas.
