Background textures are gorgeous.
The Legacy of Kain series of games has been around for quite some time now, with the series first appearing on the PSOne in 1999 from Crystal Dynamics in the form of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (although Activision distributed a similary titled Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain from Crystal Knights in 1997). No matter which game in the series you look at all has not only received positive reviews, but have always managed to expand on the Legacy of Kain universe, and this game looks no different. Legacy of Kain Defiance was one of the hottest games at 2003 E3 show and it created a storm.

The battles look excellent.
The next chapter in the epic Legacy of Kain series is a cutting-edge action/adventure game featuring more action then ever before. Take control of two powerful and highly evolved vampires: Kain, an all-powerful demigod, and Raziel, a demonic angel of death. Each equipped with a legendary sword, Kain & Raziel must battle through a world loaded with conflict and intrigue as they attempt to unravel their destinies and defeat the dark forces that seek to condemn their world to eternal damnation.

Gruesome!
During the game you will engage in intense combat utilizing thrilling combo moves, and physical agility to destroy hordes of human, demonic, and undead foes. Kain and Raziel can utilize telekinetic powers to manipulate the environment and hurl your enemies into obstacles, impale them on sharp objects, or throw them off ledges to their deaths (just check out the screenshots). You can also feed your dark hunger by sucking the blood and devouring the souls of your enemies to survive and possess the bodies of unsuspecting victims to shift between the shadowy and sinister Spectral Realm and the rich and beautiful Material Plane.

Using the telekinetic powers.
It looks like Eidos are onto yet another winner here with Legacy of Kain: Defiance looking every bit what we've come to expect from the series which has millions of fans worldwide. Graphically, this game looks like the best yet in the series while storyline should be as strong as that in past games. At the moment Legacy of Kain: Defiance is scheduled for a release in February 2004, so there's plenty of time for Crystal Dynamics to put the finsihing touches on a game that was already looking hot at the E3 show last May. This is almost certain to be another winner. Start saving those pennies.
