While Nintendo continues to struggle with the Wii U, the company has announced some time ago that their next console, codenamed the NX, is already being worked on. According to this article on Fortune Shigeru Miyamoto discusses why the Wii U failed, and that he has taken a step back from hardware development. He states that "I've pulled myself back out of some of the hardware section and I'm really focused on some of the software that I'm involved in—for example, the new Starfox game, Of course I am observing and looking at the hardware, but I am not actively participating and making decisions."
Universal Sony have announced that Pitch Perfect 2 and a Pitch Perfect 1 & 2 Double Pack will be released on Blu-Ray on August 6, 2015. Pitch Perfect 2 was released in cinemas in May and took an impressive $US277 million worldwide, more then double the original film.

Well it has taken a while, around a year in fact, but the Playstation Plus version of Driveclub is finally here, sort of. The game is actually availble now from the Playstation Store, but will only run in an offline mode in the short term with services slowly brought online to ensure a smooth transition.
If you have Batman: Arkham Knight on PS4 you may have noticed the Global Leaderboards are offline - the developers are looking at a fix for this which should be available soon. That's not too bad with the PC port of the game suffering major issues - frame rates around 10fps even with beefy PC's and a swag of other issues. So bad is the PC port of the game that some retailers (JB Hi-Fi and EB Games) have pulled the game from sale while Rocksteady look for solutions. Given that the Collectors Edition was cancelled days before release, and then another Special Edition and an unplayable PC version released it seems someone at WB Games needs to take a hard look at how to launch a title!

Well we don't know why Sony would wait for a week after the E3 Show to announced it but the company has just confirmed a new 1TB PS4 will be released in Japan at the end of June and in America and Europe on July 16. It's not just the larger hard drive however with the new version being 10% lighter, and using 8% less energy.
Another game rumoured prior to E3 was a port of Ubisoft's ZombiU to PS4 and XBox One from the Nintendo Wii U. Ubisoft have made no secret of the fact the game sold well below expectation, and pulled the pin on much WiiU development as a result. While it wasn't announced at E3 the game has shown up on the Australian Classification Board website for XBox One. Announcement soon?

While rumoured to make an appearance at E3 2015 both Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls were missing from the show - but strangely enough a press release today confirmed both titles are coming to PS4 later this year. The reason they missed E3 though may be explained that the games will be a Europe only release with no American release planned at this stage. Expect more news about the games soon - but we would expect visual upgrades when they hit the more powerful console - 1080p video at least!
Shenmue 3 was one of the surprise announcement at the E3 Show this year and we have a bit more detail about the games development arrangement with Sony. While the game is being funded by Kickstarter Sony are providing support for development of the PS4 version of the game and will provide marketing for the title upon release. The Kickstarter campaign has been used to gauge interest in the title. With the Kickstarter funding reaching the $2 million goal in less then a day it now stands at $3.3 million and is still climbing so show your support by funding the game here.
Some clarification about that Final Fantasy VII announcement at the E3 Show. Well at Sony's conference they announced Final Fantasy VII Remake whcih will see a complete rebuild of the game. That's some time off... but remember that Final Fantasy VII port announced at last years show - well that's still happening too and is just the original game with tweaked higher resolution imagery (and a port of the PC build from a few years ago) and due out in the shorter term. It seems both might be worth picking up eventually.

2015 E3 Show Coverage
Well the E3 Show is on this week so expect plenty of major announcements, and hopefully a few surprises. We have already heard about the Uncharted Trilogy coming to PS4, but what else will Sony have in store. Keep an eye on our 2015 E3 Show Coverage Page for all the news.
It seems that the cat is out of the bag at Bethesda with a error with a Twitch Stream unveiling the news that Dishonored 2 is expected to be announced at the E3 Show. Platforms, details, and release date aren't know but expect that to happen soon.
We mentioned the other day that Platinum Games will have a new game unveiled at E3, but thanks to a Best Buy Canada listing it seems the company is working on a 1980's Transformer game called Transformers: Devastation which has cel-shaded graphics.

With the E3 Show only days away Electronic Arts have confirmed that Mirror's Edge Catalyst is the name of the game after a trademark was lodged in Europe. Expect the game to be unveiled next week.
Valve have confirmed they will not have a presence at E3 next week. Of course, if one recalls back a couple of years, well five, Valve had no presence at the show but surprised with Gabe Newell announcing Portal 2 for console release.
Ready at Dawn, who developed the somewhat underwhelming The Order: 1886, have confirmed they don't own the IP to the franchise and, furthermore, they have expanded the game engine to work on PC and XBox One. That doesn't mean their next title will be hitting those consoles, but it's possible.
Platinum Games have announced that they will have a new title to show off at this years E3 Show. As yet details or platforms remain under wraps.
Capcom has annonced their lineup of games for E3 2015. Their games include Street Fighter 5, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster, and Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition.

It has been rumoured for some time, and now there is confirmation that The Uncharted Trilogy is actually happening. In fact the bundle, called Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is coming out this October 9 on PS4 and is being developed by Bluepoint Games with 1080p 60fps graphics which will include improved lighting, textures and modelling. The release will include a Photo Mode as well as Trophy support and several other bonuses. As a final bonus apparently the release will give access to the Uncharted 4 Beta when that launches. Teaser Trailer time...
