PS4 Review Rayman Legends was released last year on the previous generation of consoles, but now the game has also been released on Playstation 4 (and XBox One). Michael played, and reviewed, the PS3 version and now I (Dave) have had a look at the next-gen version. Fans certainly won't be disappointed but theres no reason to upgrade from the PS3 version if you already have that.

Today is a big day for Sony with the company finally launching their new console in Japan. Yes, a Japanese company has launched their new console in their own territory last. Buyers of the console get a copy of Knack with the system, but the new Yakuza title is also selling quite well apparently. Sales figures should be out within a week to add to Sony's already impressive 5.3 million sales to date.

Sony have announced that worldwide the Playstation 4 has sold through over 5.3 million units. That's a phenomenal number with the company targeting 5 million units by the end of the month. What's even more amazing is that the Japanese launch is scheduled for this Saturday - February 22 and you can bet there will be a lot of sales from the launch over there and that Sony have continued strong sales of the system since launch despite the lack of regular titles at retail.
Sony's The Order: 1886, a title in development at Ready at Dawn, hasn't been seen too much but today we have a new trailer for the game which looks moody, but still doesn't show a great deal of gameplay (although we believe the footage is all in-game from cut-scenes etc). Check it out...

Activision and Hasbro have announced that Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will be released in June to complement the upcoming fourth feature film Transformers: Age of Extinction which is due out in June. Players will choose from over 40 playable characters from the two different universes as they battle to secure the Dark Spark in a crossover between the Michael Bay film universe and the Cybertron universe.

PS4 Preview Thief is a franchise that not too many younger gamers may have heard of. Indeed it has been a decade since the last entry in the franchise and Eidos Montreal, the team behind Deus Ex, are rebooting the franchise. It's out later this month, and looking fantastic.

PS4 News Left 4 Dead is a phenomenal title, and now the developers behind that game, Turtle Rock Studios, have unleashed the trailer for their upcoming next-gen 4-player online only shooter Evolve. It's a very nice looking title so make sure you check it out...
Techland had a hit in the PS3-era with the Dead Island games and now they are hitting next-gen PS4 (as well as current-gen) with Dying Light with publishing being handled by WB Games. The game looks like a cross between Dead Island and Mirrors Edge and we can only hope this is a lot less buggy then their PS3 games.

As we are all aware, with the demise of THQ the UFC license came up for grabs, and to Electronic Arts it headed. Coming to the PS4 later this year EA have now given us the first look at EA Sports UFC and the visuals are amazing.

Ubisoft have announced that the download-only side-scrolling turn based RPG Child of Light will be released in Australia on April 30, 2014 from $19.95 (we suspect there might be slight price variations per platform). Importantly the game will be hitting PS3 and PS4, as well as XBox 360 XBone, Wii U and PC. It's a pretty fabulous looking title from Ubisoft Montreal. Electronic Arts has announced that 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be released on the Playstation 3 on April 17 this year. We enquired about next-gen versions with the response that "For our fans on the new generation of consoles and playing FIFA 14, we will have a range of engaging content, promotions and tournament within FIFA Ultimate Team so that those fans can experience the World Cup in unique and fun ways." Hmmm... doesn't quite sound like next-gen consoles will be seeing the full "carnival" you expect from Brazil but we'll see!

NamcoBandai Australia and publishers Square-Enix have announced that Drakengard 3 will be released as a Playstation 3 exclusive title on May 22, 2014. The game, which will be download only, is looking pretty sweet and you can see the opening cinematic below...

Reef Entertainment has announced that Rambo: The Video Game will be released on the Playstation 3 in Australia on February 21, 2014. The game, which covers the first three films - but sadly not the most recent impressive entry - will, through selected retailers come with a pre-order bonus of a 3 inch statue of John Rambo.

Bethesda has confirmed that, despite the need for Playstation Plus subscription to play games online, The Elder Scrolls Online, being subscription based (at around $15 per month to play), won't require you to be a Playstation Plus member as well to play online.
WB Games have released the first Trailer/Walkthrough for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and it's looking pretty good. The game is due out late this year on PS4 and PS3 (no doubt the trailers is on the more powerful platform, or PC), but check it out.
Square-Enix have just launched the PS4 version of Tomb Raider which was a cracker title on PS3 (see our review here) and the company has just released a launch trailer for the next-gen version. Check it out below...

Sony has announced that they have exceeded 2.1 million sales of Killzone: Shadow Fall on the Playstation 4 up to January 15, 2014. The launch title is receiving constant updates with Guerrilla Games working hard on a multiplayer expansion pack with additional features, as well as preparing two FREE multiplayer maps for the Killzone community. Mode details about these expansion maps will be announced soon.
With the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII only days away with a February 13 date set Square-Enix have released a pretty cool retrospective trailer. Check it out below...
Bioshock: Infinite is a superb title, and for those with Playstation Plus membership it's completely free during February. 2K Games have also just released a trailer for the DLC Burial at Sea - Episode 2. It's pretty nice but might have a few spoilers for those who haven't played the main game.

Blu-Ray Review Riddick is the third film in Vin Diesel's sci-fi franchise and it's a pretty good return to form for the franchise with more in common with the original Pitch Black then the sequel. Not only do we have a review of the Blu-Ray release, but also four copies to give away!
Well I guess we can get excited about this. Ubisoft have announced that they have secured the rights to develop Tetris for next-generation consoles. No date or details as yet, but we expect it will be a download-only title and probably be a lot more flashy then the Gameboy original! The franchise has appeared on over 50 platforms over the decades and sold hundreds of millions of copies (although being bundled with the Gameboy probably accounts for A LOT.

Namco Bandai, the Australian distributor, has announced that Nippon Ichi Software's action RPG The Witch and the Hundred Knight will be released in Australia and New Zealand on March 28, 2013.
It seems Rockstar is going to start getting tough on cheaters in Grand Theft Auto Online with a recent patch allowing the company to track cheaters. As a press release states:
"Those who actively engaged in cheating and exploiting the game in this manner will, however, be subject to in-game penalties at our discretion. This may include being placed in isolated cheater pools or banned from GTA Online altogether.
Should you ever encounter someone in GTA Online that appears to be taking advantage of exploits in your session, we ask that you alert us directly via the in-game reporting functionality. In the Pause menu, under the Online tab, select Players and scroll to the offending player. From there, select Report and choose Exploits from the violation options."

2K and Turtle Rock Studios have today announced that Evolve is currently in development for next-gen systems for release this Spring. As the games announcement press release states "Evolve expertly blends cooperative and competitive multiplayer experiences as a team of four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled monster. Set on an alien planet in the distant future, gamers hunt their prey in adrenaline-pumping 4v1 matches. Players experience Evolve as a first-person shooter when playing cooperatively as the four hunters, while they control the monster in the third-person perspective, providing a gameplay experience unique to Evolve."
Namco Bandai have today released a trailer called "Cursed" for the upcoming ARPG Dark Souls II from From Software. It's looking mighty impressive and heading to a PS3 and XBox 360 in mid-March.
