PS3 Review Payday 2 is a 4-player co-op shooter which is all about the online gameplay (although there is an offline mode with AI team mates) and while it has the occasional glitch, at a lower pricepoint this is well worth checking out - just be aware it's not a game for youngsters.

Blu-Ray Review Warm Bodies is a zombie film which offers a rather unique twist on the genre by taking the viewpoint of the zombie, but by also throwing in some romance (and don't worry it's not corny or soppy). In fact, this is actually a wonderful film well worth checking out on Blu-Ray now.

Well Gamescom is only hours away in Germany, and at 3am Wednesday morning Sony will hold thier press conference where they are expected to announce the official release date for PS4. Microsoft have already landed a decent blow by announcing that FIFA 14 will be bundled free with the XBox One - that negates much of the price difference between the two system. Anyway we'll update the site tomorrow (Wednesday) morning with all the big news.
Well it looks like the delay for Saints Row IV may be a little longer then expected with both JB Hi-Fi and EB Games now listing the Australian version for release on September 12. Sigh...
August 18, 2013
Several Australian retailers including EB Games and JB Hi-Fi have changed their release dates for Saints Row IV from August 22 to August 30. Australia is getting a slightly modified version of the game, but we're not sure if that the cause of the week long delay. We expect Deep Silver to issue confirmation soon, but it's certain.
Want to know when the PS4 will actually be out? Well don't forget that this (should) be announced at Sony's press conference at Gamecome which takes place at 3am Wednesday Australian Eastern Time. Yar we'll try to be up for it, if not we'll report the news when we do wake up early Wednesday.

PS3 Review Dynasty Warriors 8 is a game that will do massive business in Asia, but probably not so much outside that territory - still we're thankful for the games release. Koei's hack and slash title set in ancient China is back for yet another outing. There are a few new additions including a co-op mode, but does this elevate the game to a worthwhile purchase?
August 16, 2013
Rockstar Games have today announced their Grand Theft Auto Online: Official Gameplay Video which shows off the upcoming PS3 game, and some of the multiplayer fun. In recent days we've heard from our UK friends that Sony have closed shop on their PS4 pre-orders which guarantee a system on Launch Day. Anyone pre-ording a PS4 now will either go on a waitlist in the hope somone cancels their order, or hope that Sony increase Day 1 shipments, or will get the unit on the second shipment.
We've checked with Australian retailers and it seems that JB Hi-Fi and EB Games have no more launch day units either, but if you're quick you may still get one at other retailers such as BIG W, Dick Smith or Target who have just, or will soon open pre-orders. Indeed we've checked a couple of BIG W stores, and each store is different some are taking pre-orders, some are still waiting for details in the coming days. Of course there's no release date other then Holiday 2013 (with latest rumours pointing to mid-December).
Ubisoft Massive have confirmed that, at this time, the PS4 and XBox One versions of The Division will not have any unique content over the other version when the game launches in 2014. The key is probably "at this time" - until someone throws them some money perhaps as Ubisoft are known for exclusive content such as the extra hours gameplay in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on Sony consoles.
As announced here on the Playstation Blog, Cory Barlog has announced he has returned to SCEA Santa Monica Studio. The Game Director is most well known for God of War II. Perhaps most importantly he is working on a "freaking huge" project. We're hoping for am open-world God of War on PS4.

XBox One News
Microsoft have confirmed that the recording function on XBox One will record 720p video at 30fps irrespective of the games resolution and frame rate. The XBox One will retain up to 5 minutes of previous gameplay which compares to 15 minutes on PS4 (although PS4 resolution has not been announced, we expect at least 720p).
PS3 Preview Saints Row IV is guaranteed to generate interest. One of the best open-world franchises is back for a fourth outing, and this game is taking it to a whole new level with aliens, and superpowers. This game looks like a complete blast and we've done the preview thing to give you a look at the game.
August 5, 2013
A couple of days ago Saints Row IV was given an MA15+ rating following a couple of small cuts to the game - in particular one brief mission - but today confirmation has come that gamers with the Australian version of the game will not be able to compete in co-op with people from other territories. Of course the PS3 version of the game, unlike XBox 360, will be region free, but importing the title into the country is, well, illegal.
One game we don't really cover much here is Skylanders, but it's a monster game and today, just after 18 months on sale Activision have announced that the games/toys have amassed $AU100 million in sales in Australia and New Zealand. Impressive stuff.
Naughty Dog has confirmed that the PAL version of The Last Of Us was in fact censored slightly from the US version. The cuts saw the removal of some blood and dismemberment in the multiplayer modes. The game is fully intact in single player mode, and there's no reason not to buy it - it's stunning.
Sony has confirmed that there will not be any more DLC for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. The game, developed by Superbot, never really took off as Sony would have hoped, but they did create several pieces of DLC since release, and since the demise of Superbot as a developer.
Sony have announced they will hold a keynote speech at the Tokyo Games Show on September 19. The presentation is called "The World Playstation 4 Creates" and, unsurprisingly is focused on the next-gen console due out only a couple of months later.
PS3 Preview The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is the shooter fans of the franchise didn't want, but right now it's not looking too bad. While 2K gave us the superb strategy game in the XCOM universe last year, this is a tactical shooter. Here's a preview of this upcoming game.

XBox One News
Microsoft have confirmed they have bumped up the XBox One GPU clock speed by 6.6% from 800Mhz to 853Mhz. This is a rather insignificant jump in the grand scheme of things, but does reduce the game to the PS4's higher specs, even if only slightly.
It's been a while since anything much has been heard about it however idSoftware's John Carmack has confirmed that Doom 4 is still in development however, at this stage, he can't talk about the shooter.

Deep Silver has confirmed that Saint's Row IV has now been awarded a MA15+ rating here in Australia. The game has seen a slight edit to the game and is due for release on August 22. Here's the official press release:
Deep Silver and AIE are pleased to report that the Australian Classification Board has now approved Saints Row IV for sale. They have granted the game an MA15+ rating. To achieve this rating one loyalty mission featuring the character Shaundi has been removed. This mission has been widely reported on and contains the use of alien narcotics to obtain certain superpowers.
This mission represents approximately 20 minutes of gameplay out of the hours available to purchasers.
The removal of this mission has no negative impact on the story or the superpowers and will not detract from the enjoyment players will get from their Saints Row IV experience. The rectifier weapon will be available as part of a DLC package as originally intended. Deep Silver stands by this decision and thanks the Australian Classification Board for their assistance with this matter.

So Capcom, through Capcom Online Games, have released a new trailer for Deep Down. An in-depth reveal will be made at the Tokyo Games Show in a couple of months, but from the trailer it appears the game will be online focused, scary, and pretty nice looking. Check it out...
Looking forward to the new Star Wars: Battlefront title from Electronic Arts from DICE? I mean, who wouldn't, but don't hold your breath. The game is due for release in 2015...
Those worried that Grand Theft Auto V might struggle at the Australian Classification Board need not worry as the game has passed its rating review and been given an R18+ rating. Of course that means the game shouldn't be played by minors, but hey, adult gamers will certainly enjoy it this September.
