    PS3 News
If you're a Playstation Plus member and PS3 owner December should be a cracker month with three new games being added to the Instant Game Collection. From next week gamers will be able to download Sega and Platinum Games fantastic Vanquish, the stunningly brutal game LIMBO and also the fantasic Batman: Arkham City. What a month of games - if you're not a PS Plus member, what are you waiting for it's dirt cheap for 12 month membership.

    Blu-Ray Review
Seeking Justice is the latest film from Nic Cage and is available on Blu-Ray now. This is a rather tense thriller which sees his character, Will, in a deadly game of cat and mouse after seeking revenge on the man that attacked his wife.

    PS3 News
It's still a long way off for Europe and America, in fact it's not even confirmed for release yet, but Yakuza 5 is hitting Japanese shelves in a week and Famitsu have reviewed the game giving it four 10's - a perfect score of 40/40 overall. Please Sega, bring this game to the West soon!

Bethesda have mentioned that they are very pleased with the sales performance of Dishonored so much so that it will likely be a new franchise for the company. Sequels incoming then...

In a rather interesting twist the Korean Game Rating Board has listed Resident Evil: Revelations for PS3 and XBox 360 for gamers "Over 18 Years". The game is currently a 3DS exclusive. Capcom have not yet commented.

    PS3 News
Capcom have confirmed that an update for Dragon's Dogma will be released on December 4 - and it's free. The update, called A Trial for Adventures - Challenge Pack, will include a Time Attack Mode and Hard mode as well as four new outfits. A larger, content-adding, update called Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is due out next year. It's a good game too so check it out.

Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime, while glowing at the 400,000 sales in the first few days of Nintendo Wii U being on sale, has stated that Sony and Microsoft need to "act fast" to keep up. Ermmm, by all accounts the Wii U is struggling to keep up with PS3 and XBox 360 hardware in our books!

    PS3 Review
WWE '13 is the latest in THQ's annual wrestling series. With Yukes still holding development duties, there's no doubt the developers have experience. The question remains. Does this latest game improve the franchise at all and is it still worth checking out? Here's our verdict.

    PS3 News
2K's Ken Levine has confirmed that Bioshock Infinite will not have any multi-player modes. No co-op, no competitive. As his tweet stated on November 25 "No MP in Infinite.".

    PS3 Review
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is certain to be the biggest shooter of the year (sales-wise at least). Activision's latest is out now and we've played through the shooter which is more over the top then a Michael Bay movie. Does the franchise still have legs, and hold interest? Here's our verdict...

    Competition
WIN Killer Joe & Chernobyl Diaries on Blu-Ray. Yep, you read that right. Thanks to Village Roadshow we have 5 packs including Killer Joe and Chernobyl Diaries to give away. Killer Joe is a rather dramatic tale of a young man who needs to repay some money to a drug dealer, while Paranormal Activity sees a group of tourists getting more then they bargained for when visiting a city near Chernobyl.

    Blu-Ray Review
Killer Joe was not a film we had even heard about prior to this Blu-Ray being sent to us from Village Roadshow for review. With an amazing cast, and great script, this is a film certainly worth checking out - just be mindful that it has an R18+ rating due to some some extreme violence, and some of it being rather sexual too.

Chernobyl Diaries is from the creator of Paranormal Activity and what we have here is a horror film set with the backdrop of a town deserted after the Chernobyl Nuclear Meltdown. One for horror fans.

    PS3 News
THQ have today released their first live-action video for Metro: Last Light. Called Survivors - The Preacher Trailer it's pretty nice... The game is due out in March 2013.

    Industry News
Live in America? Then you'll proabably be aware that Nintendo have launched the new Wii U console - with Australian gamers set to get their hands on the system in just over a week. One interesting thing, when you first start the console most programs are missing, but that will be resolved with a 5GB update - yes, 5 Gigabytes! Oh yar, don't turn off your console mid-update, there are reports it can brick (aka kill) your brand new system, and with store selling out fast you might be hard pressed getting a replacement.

    PSVita News
Those of you with a PSVita will be pleased to hear that Firmware 2.0 is now live. This is a major update that introduces Playstation Plus support (and if you have Playstation Plus on PS3, you don't have to pay for PSVita), as well an improved browser, wireless syncing with PC and weather on the maps among other things.

Sticking with PSVita Sony has confirmed that the handheld version of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (or QForce as it will be known in Europe/Australia) won't be released until January 2013. The PS3 version is still on track for late November. As compensation those with the PSVita version will receive some free DLC which consists of a skin pack.

    PS3 Review
Wonderbook: Book of Spells users in a new form of entertainment for Sony and the Playstation brand - an interactive book. This first release is a big hitter; it's based in the Harry Potter universe and has had input from J.K. Rowling herself. But is it any good?

    PS3 News
Sony have announced that, as of November 4, they have sold 70 million Playstation 3 systems around the globe, just before the systems 6th birthday last week. Furthermore Sony have sold 15 million Playstation Move controllers.

Electronic Arts have dropped some details about Tiger Woods PGA 14 including the news that the game will include Arnold Palmer on the cover alongside Tiger Woods. Furthermore the game will include "a quartet of young rising stars from the PGA TOUR and LPGA. Making their debut in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise, Keegan Bradley, Bud Cauley, Stacy Lewis and Lexi Thompson will round out a roster of more than 25 professional golfers set to tee off in the upcoming title."

    PS3 News
Rockstar have today released their latest trailer for some obscure game... Grand Theft Auto V. Indeed the game looks quite sensational, but with a release set for Q'2 2012 there's a little time to wait. Check it out, and then pick your jaw off the floor.

NamcoBandai have announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be made available via the Playstation Store on November 21. The game will also receive the final time unlocked characters; Unknown, Dr. Boskonovitch and Violet.

    PS3 Review
NBA 2K13 is the latest in 2K's basketball franchise and without EA's NBA Live making an appearance yet again it's up to 2K to bring the goods. And bring them they do. This is a fantastic game which looks and plays superbly. This is game every NBA fan should pick up. You won't be disappointed.

    Industry News
So here's something a little amusing. As you would be aware the Nintendo Wii U is only days away now, but if you intend to buy a system keep this in mind. The 8GB Wii U only has 3GB of usable storage space (the rest is reserved for system files). This means that you can't install Nintendo Land as it weighs in at 3.2GB, while even New Super Mario Bros. U will use up around 2GB of that space. The system can be expanded with external Hard Drives, but yar, if you intend to download games get the bigger 32GB system which at least has 25GB of usable space.

    PSVita News

    PS3 Review
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is Criterion's latest game, and EA's latest installment in their long running franchise. Michael has taken the racer for a spin? Is it a winner? Well the game has fantastic audio visual presentation, but Michael wasn't so sure about multiplayer and longevity. Here's our full review.

    PS3 News
People have been counting down for months now, actually probably almost a year, and finally Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is available now. Shop around as we've seen the game going pretty cheap (BIG W have the game for $AU78 at the moment, JB Hi-FI for $AU79 or you could pay $AU108 at EB Games if you're, well, crazy).

    PS3 Review
Sports Champions 2 includes six motion-controlled sports including 10-pin Bowling, Skiing, Boxing, Archery, Tennis and Tennis. In the end this is a great, rather cheap, compilation for Move controllers which, if you already have the controller around (probably gathering dust), is definately worth checking out.

    PS3 News
Deep Silver have announced that Dead Island Riptide will be released in Australia and New Zealand on April 25, 2013. Yes, we know, we've already alerted the Australian PR company that that is in fact ANZAC Day and they are looking into if the game may be shifted a day or two given that most stores are closed, and of course the postie won't deliver. So expect April 24 or 26 perhaps...

    PS3 Review
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is going to have a battle on it's hands with Activision's latest Call of Duty due out in days, but this series, with the backing of EA and Frostbite 2 engine, has plenty of potential. The reboot a couple of years ago was decent, and a couple of years on we had high hopes for this sequel. Sadly it's not all-great although multiplayer can be fun.

    PS3 News
Ubisoft's Far Cry 3 is out in a couple of weeks (and has apparently gone gold) and Ubisoft have just released the very impressive Story Trailer for the game. Check it out...

    PS3 News
Activision have announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be the first game from PS3 to include live streaming of matches to Youtube. Not only can you stream live matches to Youtube, but also show the players webcam and also provide commentary. Let's just hope Treyarch have also spent plenty of time building a decent single player campaign - something which has always disappointed us about the franchise (but perhaps not so many others given the millions of sales for each release).

Below is a pretty cool video showing off the Crysis 3 - Hunter Edition. This really is shaping up as a stunning game and in a rather interesing coincidence (or perhaps not) we'll remind gamers that Crysis 2 is now available free through the store for Playstation Plus members. Get downloading...

    PS3 News
Ubisoft have announced the Assassin's Creed Anthology will be released this December. The pack includes all five PS3 games, as well all the DLC (including a Season Pass for Assassin's Creed III), in a single bundle and while a price has not been set (we're guessing around $AU300 given the £119.99 price at Amazon UK), the pack will be released in December.

    PS3 News
THQ's Financial Report has revealed that they have delayed South Park: The Stick of Truth from the intended March 2013 release date to the next financial year for them - which means after April 2013. Metro: Last Light has also been pushed back until at least March 2013. The delays are due to Jason Rubin's focus on quality of titles.

Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno has confirmed that their upcoming DmC: Devil May Cry will run at 30fps instead of the games usual 60fps, but due to some tricks and techniques learned using the Unreal Engine for Dragon's Dogma it will feel like the game runs at the higher speed.

Rockstar has confirmed that the second trailer Grand Theft Auto V will be released next week on November 14 in America, which is November 15 here in Australia. In related news it is now possible to pre-order the game at leading Australian retailers, but you'll have a bit of a wait with the game still about half a year away.

CCP have announced that Dust 514 will remain in Beta form until 2013. The game, which is a MMO free to play FPS which ties into the PC game EVE Online is highly anticipated and a major shift to F2P for console gamers.

    PS3 News
NamcoBandai have announced that Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection - which includes Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 is available now. Each of the games have been given the HD lick of paint, and trophy support.

    Blu-Ray Review
Katy Perry: Part of Me (2D/3D) is a fantastic disc both sonically and visually, and fortunately the feature film/documentary is worth your time as well. Katy Perry is one of the hottest singers in the world right now, and this focuses on her early life, breakthrough success and recent worldwide tour.

    PS3 News
Electronic Arts have announced that Army of TWO The Devil's Cartel will be released in Australia on March 28. As the press release states "Powered by the award-winning Frostbite™ 2 engine from DICE, Army of TWO The Devil’s Cartel features intense co-operative gameplay where teamwork is needed for success and survival against a relentless Cartel lord. According to this article on GamesIndustry.biz Sega have posted a ¥780 million loss (around $AU10 million) on ¥35.7 billion revenue for the year. It may sound bad, but it's a dramatic improvement over the ¥6 billion loss posted last year.

    PS3 News
Take Two and Rockstar have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will release in Autumn 2013 (in Australia - so Spring 2013 for those in the northern part of the world). A new trailer is due soon, but Rockstar's offices in New York are without power following the disaster that has hit America this week. Expect the second trailer any day now.

    Blu-Ray Review
Piranha 3DD was a film we were so keen to see when it was originally announced, but we started to get worried when, despite the success of the original, this sequel was delayed, promotional material was near non-existant and then it went direct to DVD (or Blu-Ray). While Piranha 3D was a fantasic film two years ago, this sequel looked to cash in on the success of that original film (well, remake of the original), and that's what it is. A cash-in, but a horrible film too. Avoid at all costs.
