We missed this one a few days ago - possibly the announcement of the year. Ubisoft have announced that the phenomenom which is "Gangnam Style" by PSY will be released as DLC for Just Dance 4. Expect the track to be released in the coming weeks.
PS3 Review Resident Evil 6 is Capcom's latest "survival horror" game and one which is certain to divide opinion. With four long campaigns, playable in co-op, is this game still a must have? Here's our full review, but in short while it has it's flaws this is still a game we enjoyed.

Sony have been talking about the Playstation Plus service of late and confirmed that the number of people signed up to the service doubled since the E3 Show, with the Instant Game Collection (where Sony provide free games every month) being particularly popular. Apparently 97% of people are happy with the service, and 93% plan to re-register. Oh, in Europe the game for November is Crysis 2. Wooo!
Sony have announced that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be released on November 27 for $US19.99 through the Playstation Store. We expect the Australian release (and it will be called Ratchet & Clank: QForce here and in Europe) to be pretty similar.
PS3 Review XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a reimagining of Microprose's classic 1994 turn based strategy games XCOM: UFO Defense and with development Firaxis behind this game we had massive expectations. Fortunately the developers have delivered everything we could have hoped for, and then some. A fantastic game, and you can see out full review online now.

It has been quite a while since we've seen anything about Bioshock: Infinite, but 2K Games has now released a new "Best of America" trailer. Definately worth a look...
October 25, 2012

Capcom have announced that they will be providing a "free" patch for Resident Evil 6 in December with plenty of fixes for the game. As you may be aware we haven't reviewed the title yet, expect that in a few days. It's certainly not as bad as some reviews suggest, but not a masterpiece either. Anyway here's the changelog...
Gamers will be able to adjust the camera to give a greater field of view as best suits their play style. Screenshots illustrating the new camera and co-op features can be found on Capcom’s press site. The camera screenshot pairs show the minimum and maximum range of the new camera setting. Please note that this feature is still in development and may change without further notice before the title update is released.
Subtitle options have been improved so that English language audio can be combined with subtitles in an alternative language.
As recently announced, Ada Wong’s campaign will be unlocked from the start and have an optional player-controlled co-op partner added. It was previously necessary to complete all three other campaigns in order to unlock Ada’s story.
‘No Hope’ difficulty level will be added above the existing levels, for players who want an extreme challenge.
Blu-Ray Review Iron Sky isn't a movie that everyone will love but if the idea of Nazi's invading the earth from a moon base piques you're interest then it's worth checking out. Filmed in Australia this film has unique settings, interesting characters and great visuals. Indeed this a film we quite enjoyed.
With a release only days away Ubisoft have released the Assassin's Creed III Launch Trailer. Impressive...

Confirmation today from Five Star Games that Sega and Platinum Games' Anarchy Reigns will be released in Australia on January 10, 2013 for $AU49.95 which is about half the price of other new retail releases.
Sony have, somewhat disappointingly, confirmed that with PS3 Firmware Update 4.30 (due in the comnig days) both Folding@Home and Life with Playstation services will be discontinued. While the latter was a news service of little use/interest, the Folding@Home program assisted Stanford University with Alzheimer’s research (among other diseases) by using the massive computational power of millions of PS3 systems to calculate various functions related with the disease. A shame especially as no reason to drop the program has been given...
PS3 Review Dead or Alive 5 is Tecmo Koei's latest game in their long-running fighting franchise, and it's available in stores now. As well as being visually stunning, the game is very entertaining with plenty of game modes and options, including online play. Here's our full review.

We have to say, despite the odd issue and thing to fix here and there, we've been pretty happy with the new Playstation Store redesign. Unfortunately there have been some teething issues, and as a result the new store has been reverted back the old one in the UK, and the rollout has been postponed from October 23 to an unspecified date for the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
According to reports Sega will be launching Anarchy Reigns on January 8, 2013 in America for $US29.99 and on January 11 in the UK for £20 - half the price of many new releases. The game was released in Japan to much critical acclaim in June this year and was delayed in Europe/America only weeks before the expected release despite localisation being complete. Funny thing is it was delayed to be released in a better launch window which, ermm, seems to be 2 weeks after Christmas?
PS3 Review Borderlands 2 is a sequel that should need no introduction. The original Borderlands was a smash hit for Gearbox Software which surpassed all expectations. This sequel promises, and delivers, more of everything. A superb sequel which fans are sure to love.
Well the game is only days away now and Electronic Arts have released a pretty nice "Multiplayer Launch Trailer" for Medal of Honor: Warfighter. It's looking sharp so check it out...
October 18, 2012
If you fire up the Playstation Store today you may be in for a bit of a shock with Sony revamping the store considerbly. After the 26MB download you will be presented with a new store, with new layout and new search engine. The store now focuses on games, movies and TV Shows all from the main interface, but it's pretty slick.
We've played with the store for a while now and we quite like what you see with a fantastic search engine, easy visibility to what you've previously purchased and clear navigations. What is disappointing though is the complexity of downloading an item which now requires several more clicks and while we haven't tried it ourselves there are some reports of issues adding credit to your wallet - we expect that will be fixed soon.
PS3 Review NiGHTS Into Dreams is one of Sega's most loved titles of all time, and now this Sega Saturn game gets a HD remake and release on Playstation Store but if you prefer to play the game with the original Sega Saturn visuals that's possible too. This really is a classic, and essential, game.
October 16, 2012

So what's up with SingStar? If you try to enter the SingStar Viewer App then you'll receive the message "Support for the SingStar Viewer has been discontinued. The complete SingStar experience will be available as a free download very soon.". So is the game going to become free very soon? It seems so and makes sense, with gamers just paying to download the songs they want to karaoke along to. Expect more news soon.

Here's a preview.

Blu-Ray Review Underbelly: Badness is the fifth TV series in the Underbelly franchise. This latest series focuses on Anthony Perish, a man who the police had no file on, and struggled to trace despite his crimes. A great series, now on Blu-Ray that is worth checking out.

Some sad news for the Australian games industry today with THQ confirming they will be closing their local office which handles distribution and marketing of titles in this territory. It was only weeks ago that THQ Australia lost the right to act as the Australian distributor of Capcom titles, and in a somewhat ironic move THQ titles will now be handled by All Interactive Entertainment, which picked up Capcom's titles.
PS3 Preview Wonderbook: Book of Spells is going to be a fascinating release. Indeed this title from Sony ushers in a new form of entertainment, the interactive story book. With J. K. Rowling working on this first release, and being set in the Harry Potter universe, it will generate interest.
October 9, 2012
PS3 Review FIFA 13 is, without a doubt one of the biggest titles of 2013. In fact that's guaranteed with sales of 4.5 million units after only 5 days of release. The question remains, can EA's title compete with Konami's fine effort this year? Michael has played the game and gives his verdict.

Those of you looking forward to the motorbike stunt game Joe Danger 2 will be pleased to hear that the game will be released on the Playstation Store this week. Yes, in three days. As well as that the game will include Youtube video uploading support, custom soundtrack support, Level Editing, Developer picks for best levels and much more. The game will sell for £9.99/€12.99 (which should translate to around $20 in Australia).
In other download game news Sony have announced that Giant Sparrow's The Unfinished Swan will be released on October 17th in Europe for Playstation Plus members (Which means October 18 here given the time different). The game will sell for £9.99/€12.99.
PS3 Preview Remember Me probably isn't a game too many of you are aware of as yet, but come May 2013 we're sure this game will be of interest. From a new developer, and published by Capcom, this is an action/stealth title, but one which looks great and uniquely allows you to create your own combo attacks. Check it out...

It has been a pretty big couple of days in the games industry with Cliff Bleszinski, design director at Epic Games, leaving the company after two decades of service. Epic Games, and Cliff, are perhaps most well known for their Gears of War games on the XBox. As yet Cliff has not indicated where he will be moving to, if he will be forming a new games company, or even staying in the industry at all.
Blu-Ray Review The Dictator is the latest film from British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. As we all know he never holds back from pushing boundaries (although I don't think he will ever offend the prophet Muhammad) and this film is no different. This scripted film sees Baron Cohen playing a dictator, with nukes!

Bethesda have released a rather neat Interactive Trailer for their upcoming game Dishonored. Check it out (you may wish to go fullscreen).
October 4, 2012
Remember a couple of years ago how No Doubt, the band fronted by Gwen Stefani, sued Activision over the ability for gamers playing Band Hero to use the band to sing other people songs. Well the case was due before court on October 15 with No Doubt suing Activision for charges of fraud, violation of publicity rights and breach of contract. That case, after 3 years, has now been settled out of court with an undisclosed settlement.
PS3 Review Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 is the latest in Konami's long-running soccer franchise. While the series had a rough transition to this generation of consoles, that now seems to be over and now the franchise has some steam again with plenty of quality, and this year's title is a cracker. A review.
October 3, 2012
Blu-Ray Review American Pie: Reunion is a release which fans of the franchise will be quite keen to check out if only to see where the characters are a decade later. Indeed the American Pie movie franchise was a phenomenal success a decade ago, but after all this time are we ready for another piece of Pie - in the reunion?
October 2, 2012

Get your downloads on folks (after you purchase the game).
PS3 Review Realms of Ancient War is a new game from Focus Home Entertainment. Available through the Playstation Store only, this is a hack and slash title for action fans - and at a rather cheap $23.95 price point. Michael gives us his full impression of this latest title. Is it worth your time and effort?
Here's some thing pretty cool. 2K games have released an interactive video for XCOM: Enemy Unknown which shows off the gameplay. It's pretty good fun so give it a shot. Note: This interactive demo illustrates the important choices you will make in XCOM: Enemy Unknown. In the actual game, you will control your XCOM operatives directly.

Sony's UK boss has pretty much stated the obvious in that while the PSVita won't receive a price cut in 2012, there will be one in future (read: 2013). In speaking to Eurogamer (here) Fergal Gara stated "We always aim to establish price cuts. So the question is not so much if, but when. We won't have an across the board price down this Christmas." When asked "So a price cut will have to wait until next year then?" the answer was a rather definitive "Yes".
Electronic Arts have confirmed that as well as knocking Borderlands 2 off the top spot in UK charts, FIFA 13 has already sold over 1 million units after one week on sale in that territory. Impressive.
Great news for Counter Strike: Global Offensive players with a major update to the game set for release this week. The update will include better matchmaking, a heap of bug fixes, and two new maps, Monastery and Vertigo. So Huzzah! OH, WAIT A SEC... The game still isn't on the Euro Playstation Store. How about you work on that first!
PS3 Preview Dishonored is a game which is gaining in popularity with every new showing, and with every new showing it simply looks more and more brilliant. This is certainly an impressive stealth/action title with great visuals and unique gameplay which, if it all comes together when released in a couple of weeks, could be a monster hit. Here's a preview.
