Blu-Ray Review Bad Teacher sees Cameron Diaz as a foul-mouthed teacher just trying to get by. When her rich fiancee dumps her she needs to find a new man, and a lot of cash. Crass, but funny.

Square-Enix have confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII-2, which launches in Japan on December 15 and in the West next year, will have about 30-40 hours gameplay. Furthermore once the game is complete you can load the game pre-final boss to continue in the game world while those that have a save file from Final Fantasy XIII will receive a bonus wallpaper.
As you may have noticed the news is a little light on of late. That's not from a lack of trying, it's just been very quiet on that front in the lead-up to Christmas. We've been concentrating on getting the reviews out in a timely fashion too - some people ask why not on launch day. Well a couple of reasons, some companies are holding code back until, or very close to launch day which doesn't give enough time to get reviews done by launch. The other reason being that we play a significant amount of time online in each game before reviewing them, not just an hour or two. That adds up to a lot of time in an era where almost every game has extensive online components. Anyway onto the next review...
PS3 Review Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is Sony's biggest Christmas release and it must be said that this third outing with Nathan Drake doesn't disappoint at all. In fact, it's one of the greatest video games of all time and if you haven't bought this game, what are you waiting for? Oh, our review? Well, here it is...
Sony Australia has announced that, as is the case in Europe, Vodaphone has been selected as the partner for the PSVita's 3G connectivity in Australia. Bugger we say. Vodaphone are generally regarded as the worst of the main telco's in Australia so this is disappointing. Still, there's the news. Customers who sign with Vodaphone will receive a copy of Wipeout 2048 for free.

Sony has announced that the Jak & Daxter HD Collection will be released in February 2012. The bundle includes the three original titles, remastered by Mass Media who are working with Naughty Dog. It's a bit cryptic, but Hideo Kojima has stated that Metal Gear Solid 5 is something that Kojima Productions will "probably" have to make. PS4 anyone?
Ubisoft has confirmed that Just Dance 3 will release on the PS3 in Europe (and we expect Australia) on December 9. The game has been out on Nintendo Wii and XBox 360 for a few weeks now and sold by the truckload with an 85% increase over the previous games sales.
Legal firm Edelson McGuire has filed a class action lawsuit against Electronic Arts for dropping the promised Battlefield 1943 out of the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 and not notifying buyers sufficiently. Indeed we were unaware until launch day ourselves!
PS3 Review Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi probably isn't a game that we would put near the top of our "most wanted" list. In fact, it wouldn't even make it on the list at all. Still, the disc turned up to review so I chained Michael to the TV to play, and review, this game. Dare I unchain him to seek his revenge upon me? Not yet... I'll give him a few weeks to calm down.

Pissed about the lack of exclusive content for Saint's Row: The Third on PS3? It wasn't there when the game launched. In compensation THQ have confirmed that peopl who purchase this latest game will, for 90 days, be able to download Saint's Row 2. That's pretty neat but we have to suggest that fans of the franchise would have that previous game already so that's a bit disappointing for many. Still, it's probably better then some lame costumes or game mode.
Movie Industry News
According to reports New Line Cinema is currently looking to develop a movie based on the classic "monsters smashing up buildings" game Rampage. No, we have no idea how that will work either, but can imagine some King Kong vs Godzilla styled movie.
PS3 Review Lord of the Rings: War in the North the latest game in the massive franchise from WB Games but this time the focus is on some multiplayer action-RPG gameplay. Michael has played through the game and gives us his verdict.

We've put the game through its paces to bring you this review. You won't be disappointed (with the game we mean, you probably think our review styles suck!).

PS3 Review Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is not a sequel but rather a remixed version of Capcom's hit zombie action game. Michael has taken this updated version for a spin and gives us his full impressions including his thoughts about if this is a worthwhile purchase for owners of the original Dead Rising 2.

We all knew Modern Warfare 3 would be a big game at retail and it has been confirmed the game sold 6.5 million units in America and Europe in the first 24 hours on sale, generating $US400 million in sales. That number is 900,000 more then the last title, Call of Duty: Black Ops sold in the first 24 hours.
PS3 Review Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is a bit of a departure for this series. While previous games have been focused on the single player experience, this game allows up to 4-players to play simultanously. It's a pretty decent game, so check out the review.

Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed the company is working on Gran Turismo 6 as the company as it will contain "something that we can't update through a DLC". We don't recommend you hold your breath though!
PS3 Review Battlefield 3 is the title which EA are hoping will take on the dominance of Activision's FPS franchise, Call of Duty. It must be said that this FPS has some great set pieces and delivers in a big way - particularly in the online modes. This is a game well worth checking out. Here's our full review.

PS3 Review Goldeneye 007: Reloaded is a reimagning of the Wii title released a couple of years ago which was a reimagining of the N64 game released over a decade ago. This updated PS3 version is actually surprisingly impressive with great online modes. Here's a review of this new FPS from Activision.

PS3 Review Sonic Generations is the latest Sonic game from Sega and, somewhat surprisingly given the franchises recent (or not so recent) history, is actually very entertaining. The developers have nailed the 2D gameplay, and the 3D gameplay is the best seen in the series. A review.
Another couple of big trailers to check out today the first being the "Pimps & Gimps" trailer for Saints Row: The Third. We're dying to get our hands on this game and this one should spell out the type of comedy, and violence, to expect in the game.
Next up is a target video for Ubisoft's Rainbow Six: Patriots. The game is still quite a ways off but if the final game matches this "target" video it should be great.

PS3 Review Rage is the latest shooter from id Software. Indeed id Software are loved the world over for their fantastic FPS titles and Rage looks set to redefine the genre... at least in some aspects. Visually it's stunning, but does the gameplay match? Here's our full review...
We missed posting this trailer a week or so ago. Titled "Artfully Executed" this shows some of the rather gruesome deaths in 2K's upcoming The Darkness II. My only concern, if we don't have an R18+ rating in Australia by release 2K Games may have a problem with this game!
Another upcoming game which has been given the trailer treatment, and another which may face trouble without a R18+ rating in Australia is Lollipop Chainsaw. This is a pretty cool trailer so check it out...

Sorry about the lack of reviews over the last 2 weeks. We've been smashed here at Futuregamez. Not only have we been swamped with games over the last week for reviews in November, but work has been hectic, while my wifes birthday and other family members returning from almost 2 months away has kept me busy with a week of various events. In any case we have a tonne of reviews lined up and are hoping to post one a day for the next week starting tomorrow... Stay tuned...

Sony has confirmed that changes will be taking effect soon which will limit the number of devices linked to a game account will be reduced from 5 to 2. Piracy has been a major problem with multiple machines using one account to share purchases and this will likely reduce the effect. Fortunately Sony will be, hopefully soon, providing a new PlayStation Network account management website where users will be able to deactivate particular devices attached to their PlayStation Network account via their PC. Full details can be found here.

Square-Enix has confirmed that they have shipped 2.18 million units of Deus Ex: Human Revolution with 800,000 in America and 1.38 million in Europe. The game only just went on sale in Japan (October 20) so those sales aren't included.

Well here it is, the official announcement trailer for Grand Theft Auto V. No need for me to talk, just enjoy... Sadly no release date details as yet but late 2012 is possible, perhaps.
