    Blu-Ray Review
The Green Hornet has been released on Blu-Ray in both 2D and 3D versions, but besides that this latest comic-book adaptation is a decent movie. We've reviewed the 2D Blu-Ray and fans of the film won't be disappointed.

One of the shock announcements today is that Nintendo have slashed the price of their portable, the Nintendo 3DS. Launched only a couple of months ago sales have been sluggish at best and as a result (and we're sure the PSVita had a big input here) the price will be slashed from $AU349 to $AU249. That's still a rip-off in our books. In America the price has dropped from $US249 to $169 (about $155), in Japan from 25,000 yen to 15,000 yen and in Europe, while not disclosed formally also by about a third.

The game, which features the voice cast from the TV series, will utilize each penguin's individual abilities, players must thwart Dr. Blowhole’s diabolical plan by overcoming obstacles, rescuing friends and conquering unique and hilarious mini-games like "Julien’s Dance Party" and "Mort Bowling". Sounds like fun...

    Blu-Ray Review
The Warrior's Way is a movie not many would have heard of due to a box office failure, but this $US45 million production is well worth checking out - if you like something a little different.

    PS3 Review
Shadows of the Damned is one of the most vulgar and grotesque games you'll ever play, that's if you can deal with what's here. It's fair to say that this game is not for everyone, but we quite enjoyed this release from Electronic Arts.

Epic have mentioned two interesting things of late. The first is that the People Can Fly developed game Bulletstorm has not made any money but president Mike Capps has said they don't regret greenlighting the project. The second is that Mike has admitted Epic has neglected the Unreal series in favour of the Gears of War titles. Perhaps an indication that a new Unreal may be in development. We can hope...

    Blu-Ray Review
The Tourist is a box office blockbuster starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. One would have expected this to sizzle in more ways then one. Unfortunately it's actually a bit of a missfire for all involved.

    PS3 News
Playstation Store has been updated today, as it does on every Thursday, but today's gem is Limbo which is available for $19.95, or about a fiver less if you're a Playstation Plus subscriber. Highly recommended we say. There's also a pretty big sale on multiple items too.

Respawn Entertainment are made up of ex-Infinity Ward Staff who left due to their issues with Activision - something which will be hitting courts soon.

    PS3 Review
Puzzle Dimension is a game we had no idea about prior to receiving a download code (it's available on PSN rather cheap). What we discovered was one of the most entertaining puzzle games we've seen for some time.

    Blu-Ray Review
Dinoshark, which is available now as a rental with no retail release set yet, Roger Corman's DinoShark is B-Grade horror with plenty of poor acting but also gore. If the name gets your interest that may be enough to check out this release.

Well the Uncharted 3 Beta has sadly ended, but the stats are quite astonishing. Over the 2 week Beta period, with one week being exclusive to Playstation Plus members, 1.53 million unique players tested the game, 1.9 million kills took place with 48 million shots fired. That's 22 million matches which would have taken 362 years to complete. Pretty good stuff and it just makes November seem so much further away.

    PS3 Review
inFamous 2 is a game we have been dying to get our hands on. The first title released a couple of years ago was an absolute cracker that came out of nowhere and the development team at Sucker Punch have been working on the sequel for some time. Have they improved greatness?

Playdead Games have confirmed that Limbo will be hitting the Playstation Network on July 19 in America and July 20 in Europe (which we expect includes Australia). Besides the hit game which launched on XBox 360 a year ago the developers have a little surprise in store as well. Ohh... do tell.

    Movie Industry News
Following the news a couple of months ago that David O. Russell had left the Uncharted movie - and given his choices we think that's a good thing - Variey is no reporting that Limitless director Neil Burger is now attached to direct the film. Apparently the film will be reworked to remain more faithful to the PS3 games. No word yet on a start date, or indeed who will now star in the retooled movie.

    PS3 News
Yesterday a packshot of Resistance 3 showed up in America with a strange logo on it "PSN Pass". Rumours have speculated, and Sony have now confirmed, that this will grant "Full Online Access" to participating games with this shooter being the first. Sony have also confirmed to Eurogamer that "This program will be game-specific. Games that are a part of this program will include a single-use registration code that grants the account holder redeeming the code full online access for that title." This is certainly a scheme similar to the Online Passes from other companies - once the pass has been redeemed the game can't be sold off and re-used online unless a fee is paid. It's not something we totally disagree with as developers can then get a small slice of the secondhand market.

    Blu-Ray Review
Faster hit the shelves this week and sees Dwayne Johnson return to the action genre after a few years of kiddie/more pedestrian pics. This movie isn't quite what we expected, but it is quite good. Here's the review...

Well L.A. Noire is getting positive reviews, and solid sales, but it seems Rockstar are less then pleased with the happenings at Team Bondi in Sydney with reports of very unfair work conditions. Now, its seems, the conditions, and work quality for the studio isn't good enough from Rockstar with reports that the publishers won't be publishing their next game - whatever it is. For a fascinating read about the working conditions at the developer check out this article on (after a free sign-up).

    PS3 Preview
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a very impressive looking game which, while seperate from the story seen in the motion pictures, interweaves a seperate storyline where characters cross paths. With Snowblind Studios developing the game there is a lot of potential here for a hit. We check it out.

    PS4 News
Take this with a very large grain of salt but an article on DigiTimes (available here) the Playstation 4 will go into production in late 2011 for a potential release in 2012. The system will apparently have full body detection similar to the Kinect and will be manufactured by the Foxconn and Pegatron Technology who make the PS3, will have a planned shipment of 20 million units. Time will tell if that's true, Sony certainly won't comment and in the past have only stated the PS3 has a "10 year lifespan".

    PSN Outage News
We hope you were quick enough as Sony have today taken down the Welcome Back package allowing you to download two free games due to the network outage. Today, therefor, marks a month since the Playstation Store came back online.

Speaking of which those in Japan have had to wait for the government to approve the service coming back online. The good news - the Playstation Store will be turned back on in that territory this Wednesday.

    Blu-Ray Review
Devil is a low-budget horror film which is actually quite an impressive film. Luke has checked out the Blu-Ray disc and gives us his thoughts on this recent release from Universal.

In an interesting bit of news the original Crysis has appeared on the Korean ratings website (for XBox 360) and the ESRB (for both PS3 and 360). Time will tell if/when it's released, or if it's retail or downloadable.

THQ has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be released in Europe (and we suspect Australia) on September 9.

    PS3 Review
Beyond Good & Evil HD isn't a sequel to the hit PS2 title, but an updated version for PS3. In a year that looks set to be full of HD remakes this latest Playstation Store release from Ubisoft brings back one of their most loved PS2 titles. Is it worth your time?

    Mouthing Off
Locking Game Saves is the topic in this all-new semi-regular column/rant. This week saw the Nintendo 3DS receive a new Resident Evil title from Capcom and while this would be cause for celebration there was a major cause for concern, and one which could eventually spread through the industry.
