Those of you loading up Gran Turismo 5 will notice today that Sony have patched the game to version 1.02. As well as increasing the simultaneous connections from 500,000 gamers to 1 million, this patch also allows you to play games online based on the power of cars for equality.

As many of you know we love PlayTV and indeed we watch all our TV through the PS3 with the adapter now. Unfortunately the recent update, 2.01 has some MAJOR glitches and we strongly advise anyone with the system not to perform the update. So what does it do? Well if you set something to record, and get it to start early or record longer then the scheduled time, the recordings fail. We've asked Sony Australia for comment and away a response.

The Shoot is a game which Sony need to help push Playstation Move controllers into homes, and under Christmas trees. While the Playstation Move is a great controller, there aren't too many games worthy of the device yet. This light gun game aims to try and offer something great, but does it succeed? Those of you going out to buy that little racing game known as Gran Turismo 5 may want to know that while there is a large install of 6.4GB this can take place in the background while you're playing around within the game. Also, when you connect online you'll need to install patch 1.01, weighing in at 133MB, to enable much of the online component. See you all in a few weeks when you're sick of the game...
Konami has confirmed they have shipped (not sold we must point out) 1 million copies of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. The game is pretty exceptional and we suggest you pick it up if you're looking for a lengthy action game.
According to rumours Elder Scrolls V is currently in development at Bethesda Game Studios and will be a direct sequel to Oblivian. No confirmation as yet of course as if there was, it wouldn't be a rumour now would it!
Crazy Taxi was one of the best games on the Sega Dreamcast and now the game has been ported to the PS3. Does this decade old arcade game still hold some charms? We give you our thoughts in our full review...

Sony America has teased that a new game will be unveiled on December 12. Exactly what the game is, well, a secret but we'll put some money on Uncharted 3, a follow up to Warhawk or Gran Turismo 6. (Actually, proabably not the latter).
Brooklyn's Finest has a fantastic cast which includes Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, and Wesley Snipes. Fortunately the storyline in this police drama is actually up to the task too. Here's a Blu-Ray review...

In recent weeks there has been increasing talk that Bioshock: Infinite will be ported to the PS3, rather then being developed directly for the system. Chris Kline stated that “We all know that the PS3 is powerful but unique console with its own strengths and challenges. But compared to the PC, the Xbox 360 is challenging too. So instead of declaring a “lead platform” and porting the game to the others, we’ve instead changed the game engine so that all platforms look (to a programmer) more like a PS3."
As we all know Infinity Ward imploded spectacularly earlier this year with the departure of president Jason West and studio head Vince Zampella as well as a swag of other staff who formed Respawn Entertainment. Now, however Jean-Bernard Lévy has stated to IGN that "We have reconstructed Infinity Ward. We have been very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct it."
Speaking of Activision the company has announced the closure of Budcat Studios in America. That development team was responsible for PS2 and Wii ports of Guitar Hero games. 88 employees have been effected, but some have moved to other Activision studios.
Fallout: New Vegas is the follow-up to one of the most critically praised and commercially successful RPG's of recent years. The question is, can this follow-up capture that same level of excitement? Using pretty much the same technology, if not identical, this game offers more of the same really, albeit in a new setting.

Capcom has announced that Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds will be released on February 18, 2011. Mark it in your calendars, this brawler looks fantastic.

Tony Hawk Shred is out in America and sales figures for the first week from NPD aren't great reading. The game sold a dismal 3,000 units in the country. Now that's terrible.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops out now Activision will be chuffed with the news that some 5.6 million copies have been sold in the UK and America within the first day, worth a whopping $US360 million. We've been playing it online a tonne the last couple of days. Worried about Treyarch? Don't be, they've delivered the goods.

Finally. Sony Australia has today confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will be released in Australia on November 25. American's will see the racer, which features over 1000 cars and 70 tracks, on November 24. The wait is nearly over...

Capcom has confirmed that MotoGP 10/11 will be released in March next year. The game is in development at Monumental Games and impressively will include a co-op (read: split-screen) mode.
Check out the Australian Classification Board website and you will notice a new game listed called Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves. We have not idea what the game is except it's published by Sony, developed by Supermassive Games and has been given a G rating. We're prediciting a game starring Sackboy, Dinosaurs and the Move controller.
Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is an interesting game for a couple of reasons. Not only is this the first Lord of the Rings game from WB Games, but it's also aimed towards a younger market, and finally, and most exciting, uses the Move controller.

Rockstar have announced that the first trailer for their very secretive, long in development L.A. Noire will be unveiled on the games official website (right here) this Friday at 4.00am Australian Eastern Time or Noon Thursday November 11th Eastern Time in America.

Codemasters have been talking about their F1 2011 title and the most exciting aspect is the fact that the developers are planning to implement downloadable times, so you'll be racing against the practice and qualifying times set by the real drivers at real events. Nice. Don't expect the game for quite a while though with the pretty awesome F1 2010 only hitting the shelves a few weeks ago.
Fallout New Vegas is a game receiving a lot of critical praise (we hope to have a full review online soon) and now the developers have confirmed that a fairly large patch is incoming on all platforms in the coming weeks. The patch will fix numerous reported issues.
Vanquish is a game that deserves to receive a lot more attention then it is ever likely too. From the creator of Resident Evil comes this all new third person shooter which looks and sounds fantastic, and plays just as well too. A review of Sega's latest...

Sony has announced that Playstation Home (yes, remember that service folks!) will be upgraded on November 11 to version 1.4. The big addition is that of voice chat and the ability to enter a group of up to 8 people for voice or text chats. Improvements will also be made to the wardrobe including setting favourite items to wear. You can read all the details at the Playstation Blog here.
Of course we are all aware that Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3 in early 2011, however the question remains, how will players of this sequel get up to speed from the events of the first game? Nathalie Edelmann a moderator on the official forums for the game has stated that an interactive comic from Dark Horse will be made available covering the events of the first game.
City Interactive has confirmed that Sniper: Ghost Hunter will be coming to the PS3 in Q'1 2011. The good news is that the developers have listened to criticism of the PC and 360 game and are promising PS3 owners improved gameplay and graphics, more missions and multiplayer maps, new multiplayer modes, new rifles and a bonus single player challenge. Might be one to watch...

From Software has confirmed that Armored Core 5 has been delayed and will now released in Japan in 2011. No release date for Europe/Australia as yet.
While we still await a release date for Gran Turismo 5 Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed that work has begun on Gran Turismo 6. That's not a surprise given the many years between products. Don't expect anything to be seen for quite some time. As Yamauchi stated "It's not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It's just too early to be talking about GT6."
Movie Industry News
Lionsgate has anounced that Silent Hill: Revelation is currently in pre-production. The original Silen Hill movie released in 2006 so it's been a long time between drinks for the series. Perhaps most exciting is the news that the film will be shot in 3D.

We never thought this day would come, or have been disappointed so many times we're still not quite believing it but according to Kazunori Yamauchi Gran Turismo 5 has gone gold and is currently being manufacturer. Still no release date, but early December seems likely now.
Electronic Arts have today confirmed that NBA Elite 11 has been canned. The game was apparently shaping up pretty well and was due for release by Christmas, but will no longer see the light of day. Apparently the next NBA game will be developed by EA Tiburon. I guess that only leaves 2K's impressive NBA 2K11 - not a bad choice in any case.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 was a game we were very much anticipating however the final product has left us with very mixed thoughts. Star Wars fans need only apply for this one.

NBA 2K11 is the latest game in the (now) long-running basketball sim from 2K Sports. This game looks and sounds tremendous and plays just as well too. Make sure you check out the review or just go buy the game if you're a fan.
