    PS3 News
Warner Brothers games has confirmed that F.E.A.R. 3 will be released in America on March 22, 2011. There's no release date for Europe or Australia as yet, but we expect it around the same time which is the case for most games these days it seems.

    PS3 News
In a somewhat shocking piece of news Head of R&D Management Group, Keiji Inafune, has announced he has resigned from Capcom. On his blog he has stated that "I’m leaving Capcom with the intention of starting my life over. People that really know me can see where I’m coming from. I’m not a regular dude. It’s probably because I’m strange." He had been at Capcom for 23 years with his position likely to be filled by Jun Takeuchi.

    Blu-Ray Review
Green Zone has been out for a while now but we've only just realised we never reviewed Green Zone on the site - silly us. What a mistake that was too as this is a great movie, with superb transfer. Worth a look.

    PS3 Review
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was a bit of a risk for Konami as they actually outsourced their beloved franchise to a Spanish developer. Needless to say with Hideo Kojima offering advice the final product is simply sensational and well worth checking out.

    PS3 News
People still playing M.A.G. may want to be aware that patch 2.02 has been released. The patch adds various tweaks including some fixes for the Playstation Move controller and some game crashing scenarios.

Codemasters has confirmed that a patch for the impressive F1 2010 is now with Sony for QA testing. This generally takes a week or to so hopefully a patch in early November then.

    PS3 Review
Sonic 4: Episode 1 is a game that we personally have been very keen to get our hands on. It's been a long time between drinks for Sonic fans but Sega have finally delivered what we want - a 2D Sonic title. It looks and plays fairly well thankfully although we had a couple of small disappointments. Here's our review.

Well the cone of silence seems to have dropped on SCEE and Sony Australia, as yet there are not any PSP price cuts announced. It may change soon, but you never know.

    PS3 News

    PS3 Review
DJ Hero 2 has just hit the shelves in Australia (and worldwide) and is one that gamers have been waiting for (or at least asking about, sales figures from Europe on the first few days are disappointing). Last years DJ Hero was a great release that after a slow start had some long legs in terms of sales. This years sequel is an even better game. We love it, and you should too and we just hope that this games sales reward the quality.

    PSP News
Some big PSPgo news today with Sony Japan confirming a price drop to 16,800 yen, while Sony America have confirmed a price drop from $US249 to $US199 - pretty much the price that the unit should have sold for in the first place in our books. No word yet on a price drop for Europe or Australia, but we expect the announcement tomorrow.

    PS3 News
Bizarre Creations have hinted that there may be DLC for their upcoming game James Bond: Blood Stone. The game is due for release in November and is shaping up very well indeed. Sadly it has also been confirmed there won't be a demo for the game.

SCEA has recalled Shaun White Skateboarding on the PS3 in America due to a disc manufacturing fault. As they state: “There was a manufacturing issue with a misprinted disc at Sony Computer Entertainment America and the wrong version of the Shaun White Skateboarding PlayStation 3 game was shipped to retailers. We’re working with Ubisoft to correct the issue. New PS3 copies of the game will be shipped to North American retailers by Thursday, Oct. 28 and it will be available by that weekend.”

    Industry News
There's a good article available here which discusses the lack of movement for a R18+ rating in Australia despite a public consultation with 58,589 responses showing 98.2% of people want a R18+ rating and the biggest opponent, Michael Atkinson, stepping down six months ago. So where is it now? Well Federal Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor wants to hear from the "silent majority" and will go back for more consultation. The subject is on the agenda for the next Standing Committee of Attorney-Generals which takes place on November 4-5.

    PS3 News
Sega have confirmed that the next two Dreamcast games being ported to the PS3 (after Crazy Taxi in November) is Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2 (why not bundle both games together guys - Dave). Both are due in early 2011 and will be given HD makeovers - fortunately none of these games have the control and camera issues in the first release Sonic Adventure. We realy want to see games like Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia and Daytona USA ported in the near future too.

    PS3 Review
EyePet Move Edition isn't a new game but an updated version of the 2009 release. This time though Sony have included support for the Playstation Move. Do we love our virtual pet? Yes. Is it a great game? Read on to find out...

UFC fans can rejoyce as THQ have signed a deal with Zuffa which will see games based on the mixed martial arts until 2018. The next UFC game is due for release in late 2011 after the company decided to extend the distance between titles (and perhaps push it to a Christmas release!)

    PS3 Review
Sonic Adventure was released on the Dreamcast over a decade ago now but Sega have just ported the game to the PS3 for download through the Store. Having loved the original we were keen to go back, but perhaps this is a title best left in the past. Here's our review...

    PS3 News
In the latest issue of Game Informer magazine Insomniac have confirmed that 60-player online matches will not be returning in Resistance 3. That's not a bad thing in our books as while fun, that number of people was often just too many for any strategic gameplay. Resistance 3 is due in 2011. The good news for Sony gamers is that Ted Price has confirm this probably won't be the last in the series by stating "I don’t think so. I think Resistance 3 is a story within the Resistance universe that can be expanded upon."

We knew it would happen sooner rather then later but the first game to require version 3.50 PS3 Firmware which, as we are aware, disables the ability to jailbreak the game.

Enslaved has recently been released but one interesting aspect is that if you're running audio over a digital optical cable you can only receive Stereo and not DD5.1 sound. The developers, Ninja Theory are currently working on a patch thankfully, but it may be a little way off - perhaps a couple of months when the DLC is released. As everyone should know (that includes you Mike!) only HDMI cables can give you the Full HD experience!

    Industry News
In some terrible news for the Australian games industry Krome Studios has shut its doors as of Friday in Brisbane and Melbourne. The company is most well know for the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger games from Electronic Arts and ported Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to PS2.

Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted his apologies for the game, and confirmed that (translated) “It's because time and labour were spent ironing the kinks out of [the game's] complex system. I’m really sorry. Everyone, it's inexcusable... Wait a little longer." Sony have confirmed they are still aiming for a pre-Christmas release.

Konami has confirmed they are working on a patch for Castlevania: Lords of Shadows after a small number of people have suffered corrupt save games meaning a game restart. We haven't had any issues, nor anyone else we know, and are having a great time with the game. Expect a review soon.

    PS3 Review
R.U.S.E. has been in development for quite some time now, and if memory serves was originally due for release in late 2009. Strategy games aren't very common on consoles, but this latest release from Ubisoft and developer Eugen Systems is cause to celebrate, it's a pretty impressive game worth a look.

    PS3 News

    Blu-Ray Review
Iron Man 2 was one of the biggest movies of 2010 and now Paramount have unleashed Iron Man 2 on Blu-Ray and it's a cracker of a release. With a nigh on perfect transfer and a swag of extras, as well as a great movie, this is an essential purchase.

Those of you looking for Steven Spielberg's special project with Electronic Arts should stop. According to reports the title was in early production but fell apart and won't be released. No exact details about what the game would have been about have been released. The movie director previously created Bloom Box for Nintendo Wii which was fairly well received.

    PS3 Review
F1 2010 is a game that I, personally, have been hanging to get my hands on. With this seasons Formula One likley to be the closes championship in years this game couldn't come out at a better time. Did Codemasters do justice to the license? You better believe this as it's a fantastic title with great visuals and gameplay. A few niggles shouldn't make you hold back on checking out this great title.

    PS3 News
Sony America has announced that they are renaming Heroes on the Move to Playstation Move Heroes. The game, which sees Jak, Daxter, Ratchet and more "Sony" characters together in a Move based title is due next year. Personally we preferred the original name actually.

    PSP News
Call this a big rumour, but according to reports online SCEE is no longer going to sell PSP development kits after November 15th. Apparently Sony have sent the following statement to developers "SCEE will no longer be selling the PSP Development Tool (DTP-T2000A) or Testing Tool (DTP-H2500A) past November 15th... Please order in advance if you require these development units. We will advise you when a new model becomes available." A couple of things to note, firstly it could be that the development kit is being revised and a new version would be out soon - although by Sony advising to order in advance it seems more credible that the PSP2 development kits which some development teams have already will be replacing the older units pretty soon.

3D Version of the Most Anticipated Game of the Year Set to Deliver Unprecedented Immersive Action Experience

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – October 6, 2010 – In what could become the definitive 3D game experience, Treyarch’s Call of Duty®: Black Ops will also be playable in stereoscopic 3D when the game launches at retail outlets worldwide on November 9th. Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today revealed that the game will be compatible with 3D-ready HDTVs and 3D PCs utilising state-of-the-art active shutter 3D glasses, delivering true depth of field and an unprecedented level of immersion that is perfectly suited for the Call of Duty action experience. Call of Duty: Black Ops will be playable in both 3D and non-3D on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system and Windows® PC.

“Development of stereoscopic 3D began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops. Aiming down the sights of your weapons, flying in helicopters, rappelling down mountains, and moving through highly detailed environments are just some of the awesome experiences you will have in 3D with Black Ops,” says Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops is already the most anticipated entertainment launch of the year, and the addition of a fully playable 3D version will truly take gaming to the next level,” said Chris Homeister, senior vice president and general manager of the home entertainment group at Best Buy. “Through our footprint of nearly 1100 retail locations across the country and online, as well as our wide selection of 3D-enabled products, Best Buy is uniquely positioned to bring this exciting experience to life for consumers. We’re thrilled to partner with Activision to support this great new chapter in home entertainment.”

Added Lamia, “we made sure the experience is seamless for gamers to use with a simple menu option to enable stereoscopic 3D or disable it at any time whether playing in the single player campaign, multiplayer or Zombies.”

    Blu-Ray Review
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is the first movie adapted from the Millenium Trilogy of books which have been a massive success with over 27 million books sold to date. This brilliant movie is well worth checking out on Blu-Ray.
