OCTOBER 2008 NEWS
October 30, 2008
Well we haven't got confirmation as yet, but GamesWarehouse has just shifted the release date for Sonic Unleashed to December 27th. We have asked Sega for confirmation.
Some other interesting, but unconfirmed release dates include Tomb Raider Underworld back from November 21st to December 5th (now confirmed), SOCOM: Confrontation from November 16th to January 2nd, and the same date for Rise of the Argonauts which has slipped to "Summer" according to Atari.
What a joke. What a disgrace. What an embarassment. According to this article in the Age's Screenplay section South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson has effectively killed off the prospect of have R18+ rated games. The article states...
The introduction of an R18+ rating for computer games has been delayed indefinitely after South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson withdrew his support for a discussion paper and public consultation process.
Australia is now "officially" the backwater of the gaming world as the only developed nation without an R18+ rating (or equivalent). We must point out that some other Atterney Generals, support the introduction of an R18+ rating while all others were, at the very least, willing to see the results of the report. I tell you what, if South Australians don't vote this idiot out at the next election I'm going to go Postal!
Censorship ministers in March agreed "in principle" to canvas public opinion on the proposed introduction of a R18+ classification for games and release a discussion paper on the issue, but Mr Atkinson has refused to agree to make the report public, effectively shelving it.
The draft discussion paper, simply titled "R18+ for computer games" was sent to ministers last month and details the "pros and cons" of introducing an adults-only rating for games.
The paper would have been available to the public on the internet and provided to interested parties such as games industry groups and family associations to seek their views.
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 is only a week from release now, but it's never too late for a preview is it? There are plenty of impressive looking additions to this years game. Here's all the details...
October 29, 2008
Jerry Maguire is one of Tom Cruise's finest movies, and the one where Cuba Gooding Jr. won the Academy Award. The movie is available now on Blu-Ray through Sony Pictures. We've reviewed the disc.
October 28, 2008
Activision has confirmed that Guitar Hero: Metallica will be released in 2009. At this stage though it isn't clear if the game will only make use of the guitars as per the previous title or, fingers crossed, will include drums and microphone support from Guitar Hero: World Tour.
Evolution Studios has confirmed that Motorstorm 2 will include regular downloadable content that will be released on a weekly basis. Better still most of these updates will be free. The game is out today in America, on November 7 in Europe and November 13 in Australia.
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway probably hasn't received the amount of buzz that it deserved to. While this may be another World War II shooter developers Gearbox have crafted something rather unique, and rather entertaining. Here's our full review of this latest game from Ubisoft.
October 27, 2008
Sony Europe has confirmed that Home version 1.0 is almost upon us, and will be hitting a closed beta stage in the coming weeks. The official comment from the Home Community Manager (which you can read the post here) states that "I know the lack of a date is annoying. If it helps, v1.0 is in internal testing and will hit the closed beta in the coming weeks as will more testers by invitation."
Volition has confirmed that Saint's Row is already in development, but also that they are intending on taking the series in a 'new direction'. Exactly what that means remains unclear. Saint's Row 2 has sold just over 600,000 units after the first week on sale in America and Europe on PS3 and XBox 360.
That patch for Trophy support in Grand Theft Auto IV is live now. Unfortunately trophies aren't retroactive so you're going to have to start those save games all over again - not that it should be too much hassle in such a brilliant game.
Guitar Hero: World Tour is certainly the biggest release this Christmas - physically at least. You see this latest game in Activision's hit franchise isn't confined to guitars as this game gives you the whole band with a microphone, 2 guitars, and a drum kit! Check out our preview, with full track listing, right now...
October 25, 2008
Patch 1.02 for LittleBigPlanet has been released in Europe and this patch does actually remove the potentially offensive lyrics from one of the songs in the game. Patch 1.01 was only updating some of the online features.
October 24, 2008
Rockstar has confirmed that a Trophy patch will be released for Grand Theft Auto IV on October 27.
2K Games has confirmed that Bioshock 2 will indeed be hitting the Playstation 3. There is a short teaser trailer for the game on the PS3 version of BioShock which launched a week ago.
Capcom has confirmed to Eurogamer that Street Fighter IV will be released in that territory this "Winter" (which means during the Australian Summer). The game won't be released prior to Christmas.
October 22, 2008
Well it appears that despite the recall quite a few copies of LittleBigPlanet have still made it to shelves on several stores in America including Wal Mart and Target apparently. Sony has launched patch 1.01 for the game as well which we assume fixes the offensive track while Europe has now been given a new release date for November 5th. Australia has a release date of November 7th, but being a Saturday we might see it a day earlier.
Those of you with a PSP that are having trouble since Firmware 5.00 wll be glad to know that Sony are issuin a patch soon - 5.01 - which fixes issues with large Memory Stick Pro cards (8GB or larger). No date is set for the new firmware.
The PSP-3000 went on sale in Japan a while ago and in the first four days managed to shift an impressive 141,270 units. The system goes on sale in Australia tomorrow.
With a change in technology comes the news that the new PSP-3000 seems to introduce scanlines (almost like an interlaced effect) to the screen which hasn't been apparent in the past. Sony have said this isn't a fault but a function of the new screen which contributes to improved imaged quality and brightness in the unit. Strange, no early previews and testers of the unit pointed this out (and no, we don't have a unit ourselves).
Secret Agent Clank is yet another title in the long running, and very popular series that started life on the PS2. This latest PSP game has been out for a while now, but if you haven't got it you may want to check out our review.
October 21, 2008
Sony Australia has confirmed that they are currently working towards a November 7th launch for LittleBigPlanet. Also of note, if you were looking for a free copy of the game with a PS3 from October 23rd, that deal has also been pushed back to the launch of the game. This has to be hurting Sony, but then again, this is some of the biggest publicity a game has ever received, and as we know all publicity is good publicity.
Warner Brothers have today sent out a press release confirming that The Dark Knight will be released on Blu-Ray on December 10th. The 2-disc set will include a Digital Copy of the film, as well as a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Naturally if you'd been checking out my Blu-Ray Release Schedule Page you would have known this for over a month now.
21 has been inspired by a true story and while it strays from the truth it remains quite interesting. The movie tells the tale of a group of MIT students who managed to change the odds in Blackjack at the casino to their advantage. Legal yes, but since when do casinos like to lose money?! A review...
October 20, 2008
We've spoken to a couple of retail sources today, and the news isn't looking too good for gamers anticipating LittleBigPlanet. As we all know the game has been delayed due to some possibly offensive lines in one of the songs. We can now tell you that the delay, for Australians at least, might be a little longer then hoped with the new release date looking likley to be 'sometime after November 7'. We still await official comment from Sony. (*Update*: Sony Europe has confirmed the game will start appearing on European shelves in the week commencing Novemner 3rd.)
According to our sources EA's Lord of the Rings: Conquest is now scheduled for release on January 15, 2009.
Dark City Director's Cut is an essential purchase on Blu-Ray. One of the most overlooked movies of the 1990's is now out on Blu-Ray. As millions discovered with the DVD release, this is a gem. This disc looks and sounds wonderful and includes some great extras too.
October 19, 2008
The Playstation Store update this week was a bit of a weak effort, both in Europe and America. One game we hoped to see was Age of Booty, but for one reason or another it didn't appear. Capcom have confirmed that while the XBox 360 version is out now, the PS3 game has been delayed until mid-November. To ease the pain somewhat the company also confirmed that Trophies will be supported in the game.
All hail the gods... If rumours are to be believed Electronic Arts is currently working on a new Syndicate game. Originally developed by Bullfrog the series is one of the best action games of all time. Rumours point to this being the top secret "Project Redline" that Starbreeze is working on for Electronic Arts at the moment.
October 18, 2008
Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed the news that LittleBigPlanet has been delayed. That's right, it's official. Before you get too upset the delay is only short, a week. The reason is that after manufacturing started Sony discovered that (to quote) "one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an." America's release date is now October 27th, Europe and Australia are expected to hit shelves on November 1st, and October 31st respectively. More news as it comes through...
Now that 2K Games has released BioShock on the PS3 you may be asking where are the downloadable Challenge rooms which are exclusive to the system. Well you'll be waiting a little bit with the downloads confirmed for release on November 20. That gives you about a month to finish this brilliant game - a review of which you'll see here soon.
Well it has been rumoured since well before the game launched and now it seems that Yoda will become a playable character in the PS3 version of Soul Calibur IV. Yoda should be available for a few dollars from the Playstation Store in the coming weeks (expect confirmation soon).
October 16, 2008
We have to clarify something from yesterday's Firmware release. Apparently no games support the in-game screen capturing as yet. While games such as WipeoutHD and Linger In Shadows have screen capturing apparently this isn't a part of the firmware but independently developed.
Sony has confimred that SOCOM: Confrontation will receive Trophy support via a patch in the next couple of weeks. The game was released in America this week (without trophies) and will be released in Europe and Australia in the last week of November.
Armored Core for Answer is the latest in From Software's mech battle series. With improved visuals, online gameplay and a tonne of new options this actually looks like becoming one of the best games in the long running franchise. We tell you what to expect.
What Happens In Vegas is the latest romantic comedy to hit Blu-Ray from Fox. With two very likable characters in Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher this is a movie that, despite its shortcomings, is still worth a look. Video and audio presentation are excellent on this Blu-Ray disc.

PS3 & PSP Firmware Release News
Today saw a major Firmware update on both the PS3 and PSP. Rather then paraphrase, here's the entire press release with all the details:
SCEE TO DELIVER UNMATCHED GAMING AND ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS AT HOME OR ON-THE-GO WITH NEWEST PLAYSTATION®3 AND PSP® FEATURES
Upgrade brings: Advanced Voice Chat Features; In-game Screenshot Capture; Direct Access to PlayStation®Store over Wi-Fi
London, October 14, 2008 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced details of the next PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) system software updates, adding new features to both platforms to benefit consumers. The PS3 firmware update (v. 2.50) will include the implementation of advanced voice chat features for the PS3 official wireless headset, the ability to capture screenshots in-game with supporting titles in the future, and Trophy enhancements, among other new features. The PSP firmware update (v. 5.00) will add direct access to PlayStation®Store on PSP, enabling consumers to browse the store and download games whenever they’re at a Wi-Fi hotspot. Both system software updates will be released on 15th October.
PLAYSTATION®3 Firmware 2.50 Update
Building upon the foundation set by previous firmware upgrades, the 2.50 system software update will refine existing features while also adding new functionality. The update will deliver exclusive options to support the official wireless headset, as previously announced, such as an on-screen indicator that shows volume, battery charge, and mute functions, as well as a High Quality (HQ) mode, which utilises advanced wireless technologies and the Headset's dual-microphone design to enable clear and wide-band wireless voice communication with PS3 system. HQ mode greatly improves the voice chat experience in multi-player titles such as Resistance 2, which launches in November.
To further strengthen the gameplay experience on PS3, the firmware update will add an in-game screenshot capture tool, laying the groundwork for developers to add capture and sharing options to their games and allowing players to immortalise their favourite gaming moments and share them with friends. Titles that support the feature will be announced in the future.
The 2.50 update will also enhance the user interface for PS3 Trophies. When players acquire a Trophy, the in-game notification will now include the specific Trophy icon created by the developer, while more intuitive options for comparing Trophies with friends have been added, including an icon to represent each Trophy level. The Trophy system will continue to expand through future firmware updates, catering to the PS3 community and the competitive nature of the more than 12 million registered PlayStation Network users worldwide.
Other new features delivered through PS3 2.50 will include:
• Video – Video scene search functionality will provide thumbnails to help you find a particular scene in a video more easily.
• Information Board – The Information Board will be able to include direct links to PlayStation Store, making it easier for PS3 owners to download content that they read about on the Information Board.
• Power save – PS3 owners will have the option to automatically shut-off their console or controllers after pre-selected periods of inactivity.
• Flash 9 content becomes supported on the Internet Browser.
PSP Firmware 5.00 Update
The PSP Firmware 5.00 update will add direct PlayStation Store access to the system, eliminating the need for PSP to be connected to a PC or PS3 to download content. PSP owners will be able to download games, demos, trailers, and other game-related content anytime and anywhere that their PSP is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. This functionality delivers on the portable promise of PSP, making the device even more compelling for gaming and entertainment on-the-go.
Additional enhancements delivered through PSP 5.00 will include:
• On-screen keyboard – A full-size, on-screen keyboard will be added to make text entry during Web browsing easier and more convenient.
• Sleep timer – During music playback, a sleep timer will enable users to shut off their PSP after a specified amount of time.
• Video-out – The PSP-2000’s video-out feature will be able to display PlayStation format software (classics titles) at the full-screen size of the TV that the PSP is connected to; the feature will also support interlace displays.
2K Games have confirmed there will be a patch released to fix a couple of small issues in Bioshock which were noticed in the demo (such as low resolution textures). The patch should be released soon.
Linger In Shadows isn't a game, it's interactive Art. Developed by Pastic, who are a member of the demo scene, this is an interesting release, no doubt about it. It does though have trophies, and is on the Playstation Store for only $AU4.95. Still, you might want to read this review...
Street Kings wasn't a movie I saw at the cinemas, and given the box office it's not one that many Australians saw. Keanu Reeves' latest movie is a hard hitting street cop movie. Not expecting much we were actually quite surprised about this very entertaining movie. Here's the Blu-Ray review.
October 14, 2008
Now this is great news C&VG has learnt that Flash 9 support will be added to the web browser when Firmware 2.50 releases later this month. Other updates include the ability for the PS3 to power down after finishing downloads, power saving states, improved video player playback and in-game screenshot. Expect a full changelog upon launch.
Silent Hill: Homecoming have have been banned in Australia, but now all Europeans will be waiting with the release pushed back until February 2009. While no reason was given for the delay we're wondering if it could be so that the game is modified to be released in Australia as well - reduced blood/gore etc. Time will tell, but the game is out in America already if you must
Well if you were looking for those Civilization Revolution packs last Friday we have some news for you. As you probably know they weren't release as expected, but 2K Games has today confirmed that the free Brave New World map pack is going live on the 23rd October and the $AU1.75 Victory Pack is going live on 30th October.
Wipeout HD isn't so much as just another release for Sony, it could be a telling title for the systems online capabilities. Sony's 'mascot' racer has had a loyal fanbase since the very first title on PSOne, and the latest game is available exclusively through the Playstation Store. We are very pleased to welcome new reviewer Mike Allison as he checks out this latest, brillant, game in the franchise.
Rollerball. For one reason or another Sony decided not to bring us the 1975 movie starring James Caan, but rather the terrible 2002 remake instead. Unless you're a massive fan of this remake - which we would find hard to believe - we suggest you steer clear.
October 13, 2008
Sony Europe has confirmed a LittleBigPlanet PS3 bundle will be released on October 31st, a week after the standalone game. The bundle includes a copy of the game, an 80GB PS3 and a Dual Shock 3 controller for £299.
Rise of the Argonauts has been in development at Liquid Entertainment for a couple of years now. Taking much inspiration from Greek mythology this RPG looks very impressive. Great visuals and a promise of uncluttered gameplay makes this a game to watch.
October 12, 2008
When it comes to PSP games, and the resurrection of the handheld system in Japan no game has been more prominent then Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. With sales surpassing 2.4 million units it is quite surprising then that the game hasn't been announced for Europe - until now. Apparently the game will be released in early 2009 and be renamed to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Some great news for gamers with confirmation of sorts through the OFLC website (read it here) that THQ has picked up the rights to publish 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand. The game has been rated MA15+. The games release was in limbo following the Vivendi Activsion merger when the game was dropped from their schedules. Now, where is Ghostbusters?
Sony has released patch 1.10 for WipeoutHD which apparently fixes some of the issue with online games freezing. We can't say that we've encountered that ourselves, but best to be on the safe side. Look for a review of this racer in the coming days.
Well it's not official from Sony yet, but retailers have shifted the release date of SOCOM Confrontation from October 16 to November 27th.
Eidos and Avalanche Studios have confirmed that Just Cause 2 won't be released in 2008, but sometime in 2009. The time will be used to polish the game further prior to release.
Sex and the City sees Carrie and her friends return, but this time in a big screen adaptation of the hit TV series. This movie took in over $US400 million worldwide and is certain to be a big Blu-Ray release this year. We've taken the disc for a spin and despite never watching the TV show actually found this somewhat enjoyable. Strange, I know...

Tokyo Game Show News
PSP Plus. No, it's not a new console but rather a feature which allows you to use a PS3 Dual Shock controller on the PSP. The first game to make use of this feature is Resistance Retribution. Of course the big advantage to using the SP3 controller is the inclusion of a second analogue stick - almost a requirement for FPS's!
The other big news from the Tokyo Game Show is that the PSP Store will become available directly on the PSP from October 15th in Japan. This would allow you to download demos, games and other content directly to the system - with all games in future set to be downloadable.
Tecmo have announced an all-new PS3 exclusive game called Quantum Theory at the Tokyo Game Show. The game appears to be a third person shooter, but doesn't have a release date as yet.
Sony has reiterated that Gran Turismo is still coming to the PSP, with the delays being caused by a focus on the PS3 games. Want some advice Sony? Farm this game out to another developer, but still under the guidance of Polyphony Digital. Ready at Dawn would have been perfect, and perhaps that would have convinced them not to send back their PSP dev kits.
Capcom has confirmed that Bionic Commando will release in early 2009, rather then late this year. Not a surprise given the title hasn't appeared on anyones schedules, or any retail lists yet.
Microsoft have again re-iterated that they have no plans to release a Blu-Ray drive for the XBox 360. Naturally though they would deny that until it's ready to be announced.
PSP game Patapon 2 has been dated for November 27 in Japan while LocoRoco 2 has been confirmed for December 4th.
Sony has announced a list of companies on board to support the upcoming Home through either online events or created content. These companies include Irem Software Engineering, Activision, Acquire, Atlus, Walt Disney Japan, AQ Interactive, SNK Playmore, Capcom, Gung Ho Online Entertainment, Q Entertainment, Game Republic, Genki, Koei, Konami Digital Entertainment, Spike, Sega, D3 Publisher, Tecmo, Nippon Ichi Software, Paon, Hudson, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft.
Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that Fallout 3 has gone gold and will be released this month as expected. Americans will see a release on October 28 while Australian gamers will get their hands on the game on October 31 through distributers Red Ant.
Electronic Arts has confirmed they have sold a very impressive 1.2 million units of FIFA 09 in Europe in the first week on sale.

Tokyo Game Show News
Tokyo Game Show is on this weekend and we can expect quite a bit of news over the next couple of days - with hopefully a couple of big announcements. Stay tuned...
Pure - entertainment, that's what this is! From Disney Interactive Studios comes this all new racing game which manages to cross ATV racing with insane SSX styled tricks. This is one of the most entertaining games this year and we do suggest you check out the review!
Made of Honor is one of the latest Blu-Ray releases from Sony Pictures. This movie is, as the title may suggest, a romantic comedy. Starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan this movie, while not really our style, still managed to entertain.
October 8, 2008
Certainly one of our favourite games this year has been Civilization: Revolution and 2K games have just announced two downloadable packs - one free, and one, well, not much off free. Here's the details: (Oh, if you don't have the game yet, get it, it's great)
FREE SINGLE PLAYER MAP PACK: BRAVE NEW WORLDS
The Brave New Worlds single player map pack includes four all-new maps for Civilization Revolution players to conquer. "Mazeworld" is covered by mountains, making your global expansion all the more tricky. "Chokepoint" is aptly named for its unique terrain structure that forces you to fight for the dominant positions on the map. "Donutworld" has a special donut shape to it (hence its name), and "Checkerboard," a map consisting of similarly sized islands peppered throughout the world. These four new single player maps are completely free for all players.
SCENARIO PACK: THE VICTORY PACK
The Victory Pack includes three new scenarios for gamers to tackle in single player mode. They include "Enlightenment" where players show off their civilization's grandeur as they vie for a cultural victory, "Hyper Drive," a high-speed space race, and "Gold Rush" where amassing money fast will win the game. The Victory Pack is available on Xbox Live for 100 MS Points, and on the PSN for $1.25 US, 0.99 EURO, 0.69 POUNDS, or $1.75 AUS .
Atari Australia has sent out their latest release schedule and the one big change is that Alone in the Dark has been pushed back fron November to a street date of December 11th 2008. The game has seen many changes from the critically panned XBox 360 version so we're hopeful that our version is a much better product given the extra six months of development time.
Atari Australia has also confirmed they will be distributing Eternal Sonata (no, it's not about my car!) here in Q'1 2009. The game looks very impressive and those of you with a US Playstation Store account can check out the US demo now!
The Spiderwick Chronicles is based upon a series of five childrens books. Indeed what did surprise besides the wonderful CG in the movie is that this movie is actually quite action packed, and quite scary in parts. Yet again Paramount deliver the goods on Blu-Ray and we've done up the review.
October 7, 2008
James Bond: Quantum of Solace looks like a brilliant movie, and this game from Activision not only looks the part, but with the Call of Duty 4 engine behind it should play brilliantly as well. We given you the latest screens and info on this hot game.
October 6, 2008
In a major boost for the PS3 Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley has revealed that all upcoming MMO's from the company will be released on consoles in future - with the PS3 an obvious target. The company is currently working on Free Realms, The Agency and DC Universe Online.
According to reports out of Europe Eternal Sonata is set for release on the Playstation 3 in February next year. Due to the public holiday we are awaiting word on release in Australia but it is likely.
Iron Man was one of the biggest movies of 2008, and it's available on Blu-Ray now. Indeed this latest Blu-Ray release from Paramount is a stunning disc and if you own a PS3, and HDTV, you must purchase this Blu-Ray disc right now!
October 5, 2008
That rather secretive game/demo called Linger in Shadows will be released on the Playstation Store on October 9th. Rusty Buchert, Senior Producer for Linger in Shadows, has confirmed that the title is not a game but rather an interactive artwork. The one question that he doesn't confirm though is if we'll be paying for the privledge to check out/manipulate this artwork, but it will have Trophy support apparently!
SingStar Hottest Hits. Well, it has been a couple of months since the last SingStar release on PS2 so, unsurprisingly, Sony have pumped out another PS2 SingStar compilation to keep us singing, and their coffers full. We tell you what to expect this time around and, more importantly, the tracks included on the disc...
October 4, 2008
Throw in your PS3 copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and you may notice a new patch is available. Weighing in at around 160MB the patch adds three new cars - the "GT by Citroen" concept car, the Ferrari California and the Lotus Evora as well as improvements in several areas including Wireless controller response (we never had any issues?!), better audio balancing and in Time Trial giving you an invalid lap rather then speed penalties when crashing your way around. The bad thing though is that all rankings, times and records will be lost as well as some older replays.
Drillbit Taylor is Owen Wilson's latest movie and is available now on Blu-Ray thanks to Paramount Pictures. We've checked out the disc and while this isn't one of Owen's best movies this family friendly fare is another very solid Paramount release.
October 2, 2008
The Playstation Store was updated late today and there are a couple of big items for you to check out. First up is a demo for BioShock which weighs in at 2.0GB while the second is a demo for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 which weighs in at 1.5Gb. Besides those two items there is a new game called Geon available for a bit over ten dollars, trailers for Facebreaker, Tomb Raider Underground and some themes and wallpapers. Oh, we forgot to mention that for $3.45 you can grab the Pixeljunk Monsters and Pixeljunk Eden soundtracks too!
LucasArts today announced that it is preparing two rounds of additional content for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed this spring. The first piece of downloadable content will be comprised of additional costumes and character models that can be used while playing through the single-player campaign, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto. The second round of downloadable content, due later this year, will feature an entirely new single-player mission, set in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice turns to the Jedi Temple to learn more about his father, and while searching through the rubble of the destroyed building he must confront his inner demons.
Sega has confirmed that the release date for Valkyria Chronicles has been moved forward two weeks from November 30th to November 14th. Additionally the game will see a demo featuring 2 playable levels being released on PlayStation Network from October 9th.
Warner Home Video Australia has confirmed that The Dark Knight will be released on Blu-Ray as a 2-disc set on December 10th 2008. Mark the date in your calendars folks.
October 1, 2008
Electronic Arts has confirmed that Tiberium has now been officially cancelled as it did not "meet standards". The game was a First Person Shooter set in the Command and Conquer universe. The game was originally set for release in 2007 until it was delayed to improve the quality.
Keenly looking forward to the God of War movie? Well your not alone and it has now been confirmed that Brett Ratner (X-Men 3, Rush Hour Trilogy) will be directing the movie. David Jaffe has has commented that he is happy to see Ratner directing, and it's a choice we can't disagree with. While there is a lot of "Ratner bashing" on the internet, we do enjoy the Rush Hour movies and appreciated what he with the third X-Men given the very short production time, and his late arrival on the project.
