For those of you that may not be aware Take Two has re-released Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas following its banning a couple of months ago. The game has had the hot coffee sections removed which, with the installation of a patch, allowed sex mini-games to be played. Please bear in mind that these mini-games were never a part of the original game, so you're not going to be missing anything. This re-released game is available in stores now.

Buzz: The Music Quiz is Sony's attempt at their third big peripheral based franchise. We've seen the Eye Toy Camera, and the SingStar microphones, now it's the turn for a Quiz Buzzer. Does the game match yet another great controller? If you have a lot of friends around you'll probably enjoy this very much. Here's our full review so check it out.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocolypse (now that's a mouthful) is available now and it's bloody brilliant. The X-Men universe was explored in last years Legends game but this sequel offers much more. More characters, more enemies and more game. Here's a look at this fantastic title from Activision.

Sega has confirmed that their upcoming Sega Rally 2006, which is due out in Japan on January 12th 2006, will include a port of the original Sega Rally as a bonus for those who purchase the game early. No word yet on whether the main game will even make it to PAL territories yet, let alone that very juicy bonus.

Sega Europe has confirmed they have no plans to bring Shinging Force NEO over to PAL territories. The game has not been received as well as anticipated in Japan and reviews from America have also been less then glowing. Perhaps if the game sells well enough they may change their mind, but don't hold your breath.

Well the XBox 360 is due for release around the world in late 2005 (Australia will be around March 2006 - Microsoft don't like us) and the Playstation 3 is shaping up as Q'2 2006 in Japan with other territories later in the year. Now Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata has chimed in by confirming the Nintendo Revolution will be released between April and December and are aiming for a simultaneous worldwide launch as well. A little more pressure has just been place on Sony to get the Blu Ray specs, and PS3 production into gear.

    PS2 Reviews
SSX On Tour is out now and we have spent considerable time playing the game to bring you this in-depth review. There's some new gameplay elements but the main changes are to the style, new music and a new approach. One thing is certain, Electronic Arts have produced the goods yet again with this title. Here's our review.

    Competitions
A reminder that we have two very big competitions running at the moment. Does it deserve the name? Read our full and exclusive review to find out if this is the rebirth of a franchise or not...

Ultimate Spiderman is one of Activision's big Christmas titles. Rather then being based on movies as the previous two titles were this game takes inspiration from the comic books. Here's Graham's impressions of the game.

    Games News
It looks like the OFLC in their great wisdom that no one above 18 in Australia plays games, is at it again. The ratings board has just handed down the decision that Vivendi's quite superb looking 50 Cent: Bulletproof be Refused Classification here in Australia meaning it can not legally be sold unless it is modified and resubmitted, or the decision successfully appealed against. The game was expected to be released here on December 1st. Expect more news and info as soon as Vivendi can be contacted in the morning. You can check out the OFLC's decision (although there's not much info available) here.

Well Europe may be delayed until November 4th for Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories but Australian gamers are going to be worse off. Several retailers including Topshop are reporting that the game won't be released here until November 11th. Strangely Take Two's PR department said they are still awaiting confirmation of from the UK. More info soon...

    PS2 Previews
Soul Calibur III is one of those games you just know is going to be great. The last preview we did for the game was back in May? Forget about that preview. In fact there has been so much new info and screens released that it was easier to delete the old one and start over. This is hot so check it out.

    Games News
According to sources in Europe Rockstar/Take Two's highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories has been delayed and will not make its release this Friday October 28th. At this stage it is unclear if the American release will also be put back, nor if the delay will also affect Australia - but we're almost guaranteed of that sadly. The news isn't all bad with a delay of only a week until November 4th. Expect more news tomorrow morning about these delays, including (hopefully) comment from Take Two Australia.

Top Spin is one of those games that XBox owners have always been able to show off knowing it wasn't available on the competing formats. Two years since the XBox release that systems biggest sports title to date is now available on Playstation 2. Our review lets you know just how well this game has been ported to Sony's system.

    Games News
As some of our Japanese readers (and yes, we have some) may be aware there is a new Silver Satin Slimline PS2 being released on November 23 with the model number SCPH-75000 SSS. Sony Japan have advised potential buyers that the system has trouble playing several PS2 games, and about 40 PSOne titles. The PS2 games include F1 2001, F1 2002, The Stylish Mahjong, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Racing Battle C1 Grand Prix, Hitman: Contracts, and Tekken 5 (only the Tekken 3 part). Most of these games have slight video or audio problems, or may occasionally freeze. No reason has been given for these problems however the company recommends buyers wanting to play these games to consider earlier PS2 models.

Well we know that Vin Diesel has signed up to play Agent 47 in the big screen adaptation of Eidos' hit game Hitman and now according to this article on Variety, Skip Woods has been signed to write the screenplay. Skip is best known for writing and producing the John Travolta movie Swordfish. At least there's no mention of Uwe Boll directing - yet.

DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi is without a doubt one of the most anticipated titles this side of Christmas. Anytime we post some news, or updated screens, our visitor numbers leap remarkably. Well, how's this; a review of the latest game. Now this is going to get you all excited we're sure. As only a casual observer of the Dragon Ball Z shows I went into this game with a very open mind. What did I find? Certainly a game better then the previous titles with many new additions, but also...

Villiage Roadshow has confirmed their first movie releases on Playstation Portable UMD will be the Blade trilogy of movies on December 1st. Each movie will be released with very generous retail prices of only $24.95 so we can expect them to be sold for about $20 in stores. What's even more exciting is that each of the movies will include extras for the movie - the first time these will be available on PSP UMD's in Australia. Blade will include audio commentary with Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff and the filmmakers, Blade II will include deleted scenes while Blade Trinity will include an audio commentary with Writer-Director-Producer David Goyer, Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Beil.

Being the nice folk that Villiage Roadshow are they have also confirmed that we can look forward to movies such as Dukes of Hazzard, House of Wax, Constantine, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Matrix and Wedding Crashers in early 2006.

Atari Australia has confirmed that Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi has been brough forward from a loose November release to October 28th. PS2 Reviews
Conflict Global Storm is actually the fourth game in the series on PS2. SCi's series has earned a fairly solid reputation over the years on PS2 despite never becoming a triple-A title. This latest game makes more improvements, but is it good? Here's our full review so check it out now. Oh, there's also a chance for you to win one of 10 copies of the game too!

We know how brilliant ICO is. We are almost certain that Shadow of the Colossus is going to be the second massive hit for the developer and now Fumito Ueda, the games producer, has confirmed that he will be working on a PS3 title next, and possibly PSP in future. Don't expect anything for a couple of years though.

    PS2 Reviews
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 is the latest in Electronic Arts' long running golf series. This new game adds some new elements and game modes, but retains the brilliant gameplay. As well as a 30 year career mode, and a new putting system using the dual analogue sticks there is a bit more here to enjoy. Here's our full and in-depth review of the game.

    Games News
Late last week movie action star The Rock confirmed he performed some motion capture work for an upcoming Spy Hunter game. The game is expected to tie in to a movie which the actor is about to start filming next year with John Woo directing. What makes this even more interesting is that for the first time the hero, Alec Sects, will be able to get out of the car and run around on foot - obviously the section which The Rock was motion capturing for. No word yet on a release date.

Jak X is heading to Playstation 2 in around a months time. While previous games in the Jak & Daxter series were very well received by the press and public alike this new title isn't another platform game but a combat racing title. It looks good, and includes online modes. Here's a peek.

    Games News
Electronic Arts have confirmed that Need for Speed: Most Wanted on PS2 will not include any online gameplay. This isn't restricted to Europe where EA seem to lose online modes in several games, but also America. In an interview with Gamespot Larry LaPierre, senior producer at EA Canada, said that "In this case, we made a conscious decision to ship the PS2 game without online gameplay, because we were not able to meet that highest standard of quality we had hoped for in this online feature."

Square-Enix has confirmed they have sold 700,000 copies of Final Fantasy Advent Children on DVD and UMD in Japan. The movie which was released in Japan in September will be available through Sony Pictures on UMD and DVD in February 2006.

SOCOM III is the third game in the series that kicked off online gaming for the Playstation the world over. This title includes many more weapons, the abilitiy to drive vehicles and maps six times larger then in previous games. Sounds pretty damn awesome to us. Here's our preview.

Sony has announced they will be holding a festival called Akihabara Enta Matsuri in Tokyo from October 22 to 30. What's most exciting is that the company will be using the event to show off the Playstation 3. Time will tell what games will be shown, or if any will be available, but it's likely timed to take the wind out of the XBox 360 launch so hopefully there will be some big surprises.

Q Entertainment have confirmed that sales of their (superb) puzzle game Lumines have surpassed 550,000 units around the world. While the game sold a modest 70,000 units in Japan the game has sold an impressive 300,000 units in America and 180,000 units in Europe. If you don't have this game yet you're missing out on the best reason to own a PSP.

Electronic Arts have confirmed they are developing FIFA Street 2 for all major platforms, PS2 and PSP included. The game will be released in mid-2006.

Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2005 is the second cricket game released this year, but a much more enjoyable product. Unlike EA's title this game is actually enjoyable to play and you can easily pick the game up and start batting. It's not quite perfect, but is probably the best cricket video game ever. Here's our full review.

Ubisoft have confirmed that Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter won't be released on any platforms this year and instead has been delayed until February 2006 to give the developers more time to complete the title. Hopefully a PS2 and PS3 version will also be available at some stage.

Sony America has announced that SpyToy will be released in America on November 15th and will be known as EyeToy: Operation Spy.

Reporting on the enemy here but two development on the XBox 360 front have come to light over the last couple of days. Firstly it appears Microsoft may have trouble manufacturing enough units to meet demand. Many stores have stopped taking pre-orders and the company has confirmed that many people are likely to be disappointed. The company is still to confirm the launch titles. Secondly 10 XBox 360 development kits have apparently been stolen and with only three recovered its believed the other seven may be in the hands of hackers already. Thank god we love Sony!

FIFA 06 is on the shelves now, but with Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 5 only weeks away gamers may want to wait for the review on that one as well. Electronic Arts have brought back their soccer franchise to the masses, but this years title doesn't really bring much new to the table. Here's our look at the game.

Action star turned Govenator Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed off on Californian bill AB1179 meaning anyone selling video games to underaged gamers may face fines of $US1000. It must be pointed out that Arnold supports violent video games being sold by stating that "I'm a big believer in these videogames, I mean they're terrific. A lot of them are manufactured in California and they're doing a great job", but doesn't want them in the hands of minors. Naturally the Entertainment Software Association disapproves of the Bill - they obvioulsy want 5 year olds playing Manhunt.

    PS2 Reviews
Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is one of those games that you just hope will be kick ass. Any new game from Capcom is enough to get gamers excited due to their track record. We soon realised, however, that slapping an old naked man with a large fish in Iceland would be more fun then this. Here's our review.

    Games News
Some interesting news in the last couple of days regarding the Playstation 3, and in particular support for the Blu-Ray drive and movies. As many know a battle is looming with the HD-DVD format, however Paramount has confirmed that they will not just be supporting the HD-DVD format, but now also the Blu-Ray format. Additionally Warner Brothers are about to follow suit. This means very few companies will support HD-DVD format without Blu-Ray support, and you can bet Sony, MGM etc won't be supporting the HD-DVD format making the PS3's Blu-Ray a likely winner already.

    PSP Reviews
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition was a stunning game on the Playstation 2 and as Chris discovered the port to PSP is just as impressive with this version just a choc full of gaming goodness as you could possibly hope for. Here's his full review so check it out.

The Australian High court have deemed that mod chips are legal. The court determined that the mod chips were not primarily copy protection devices thereby ruling them out as being covered by copyright laws. This ruling does not mean copying games is now legal in any way and those caught doing so can still be prosecuted. This ruling is the latest, and possibly final, chapter in a battle which has been running for over four years since Eddy Stevens was taken to court by Sony for chipping PlayStation consoles.

Koei has confirmed that they are developing Mahjong Taikai for a PS3 release in 2006. Needless to say there's more chance of aliens visiting earth then this game making it out here.

    PS2 Reviews
Fahrenheit is a game that will go down in history. It's not just another adventure game, but one of the most groundbreaking titles of recent times. The gameplay is unique, and plays more like an interactive story, but also uses a superb technique of multiple windows and also allows you to play as three characters (two cops and one murderer). This game is simply superb so check out our review now.

Not really Sony news but exciting nonetheless. Many of you will know Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh as the couple (in work terms only) that brought us the stunning Lord of the Rings movies, and will be releasing King Kong late this year. According to Microsoft they have just signed on to produce a Halo movie. Now this doesn't mean they will be directing it, but a producer still has a massive say in getting things done. Exciting news.

AFL Premiership 2005 is, in case you were unaware, available in stores now. While the 2005 AFL season is over with the Sydney Swans winning the Grand Final this game allows you to play on well into the summer. Previous titles have been average at best, but with Sony publishing this latest game there are high hopes, at least there were... Here's our thoughts.

Here's our preview with the latest screens.

Sony Japan are about to release a new firmware upgrade for the Japanese PSP's. The upgrade, to version 2.01 adds a remarkable new feature - it closes the loophole that allows you to downgrade your firmware to version 1.50 which became available last week allowing people to run homebrew and even commercial games apparently from memory stick. Exactly why you'd upgrade just to stop this downgrade sounds a bit like selling ice to the Eskimo's or water to a fish. No word yet on if this rather pointless update will be released in America or Europe.
