SingStar Pop is the third Singstar title in th series but unlike what the name suggests it isn't just about pop music with bands like INXS, BEP and Blink 182 also making an appearance. The game also includes 10 local Australian tracks. Here's our last minute preview with a release less then a month away now!

Get to it, only one week remaining to enter...
THQ have confirmed that Super Monkey Ball Deluxe has been postponed until September. We're unsure of the reason but it's a little sad given that this stunning puzzle game was due out this month.

This Weeks Releases
Actually it has been two weeks since we showed the list of releases. E3 tends to have that affect on people, but it's been pretty quiet with only a couple of games being released over this period. Still for those interested here's the latest games release in Australia:
May 29, 2005
What a quiet time after the E3 show with almost no news over the last week - I guess everyone is taking a break and taking stock of what was shown. Still some news is trickling out slowly, but most people are still getting over the stunning PS3 demos. If you didn't check out our previews head on over to the Previews & Release Schedule Page which has been updated.
It's amazing. Acclaim have been gone for almost a year now, but their assets are still being snapped up (although strangely two almost complete games The Red Star and Combat Elite World War II Paratroopers haven't been picked up!) and now Buena Vista Games has confirmed that they have secured the rights to the Turok license. The good news is that a new game is in development for next generation consoles. The second good news is that the development team is entirely different from previous (shit) Turok titles.
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. There were two big racing games due in early 2005 - GT4 and Midnight Club 3. As we all know Gran Turismo 4 is a stunning title - possibly the greates simulation ever. Fortunately the differences between that game and Rockstar's street racer are vast and owning both is certainly an option. Here's our verdict on Rockstar's game...

Obscure is an older title which we've only just decided to review - well, Graham decided to do it anyway. What he discovered with yet another survival horror game - but one with a twist, 2-player modes. Does this 2-player mode lift this title above average?

Tenchu: Fatal Shadows may not be the best ninja game ever - although we still enjoyed it for some strange reason. Anyway those wonderful folk at THQ Australia have provided us with FIVE copies of the game to give away. It's dead simple to enter so hit this link and make sure you get your entries in before June 7th... Get to it...
Well here's some news to get gamers excited. Apparently Hideo Kojima is going to take full control of development of Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3.
Factor 5 are a very unique company. After being a virtual Gamecube exclusive developer the company recently announced that they would develop for the XBox 360. Now, however, it looks like the company is moving to Playstation 3 and whats more, that will be their preferred system.
May 24, 2005
Tenchu: Fatal Shadows may have changed publishers from Activision to Sega, but for developers K2 this is their second title in the series on PS2. The Tenchu series of games have earned a reputation as solid ninja titles in recent years. This week sees the release of the latest game. Here's our opinion.

We have a winner for our recent competition to win a copy of Star Wars Episode III thanks to Electronic Arts. The winner answered the first three questions correctly and then provided the following response to the question "If you were hired to play any Star Wars character in a movie who would it be, and why?"... "I would play Chewbacca, as I'm quite tall (2m) and am built like a tank, so I would be able to convey his strength. Plus my mum says I mumble when I talk sometimes, so I can reproduce Chewbacca's sound when he speaks." The winner is Jason Lauria - Congratulations. Expect another competition in the coming days.
Well E3 is over but you can expect a tonne more news and previews over the coming weeks as the Australian distributers send out the E3 press kits. Stay tuned for much, much more.
MX Vs ATV Unleashed is due out this Friday and will be highly anticipated for several reasons. This is a racing game which combines both the very popular MX and ATV Offroad Fury series' of games. It sounds like the perfect combination, but is it? Graham gives us the verdict.
May 16-22, 2005

Just a quick note that in our review of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory a couple of days ago we listed Ubisoft Shanghai as the developer. Today I received an e-mail from Andre at Ubisoft who states that we were incorrect and that "Splinter cell Chaos Theory for PS2 solo and dual mode has been done completely at ubisoft montreal (as for GC, Xbox and PC). The adverserial game (for PS2) has been developped by ubisoft Annecy (France). Ubisoft shangai has developped part of the Xbox adverserial game." Needless to say those responsible at Future Gamez have had food and alcohol rations removed for the next couple of days.
SNK Vs Capcom: SVC Chaos is certainly a highly anticipated game among older gamers. In a world divided into Capcom and SNK 2D fighting fans you would think the bring together of characters from both sides would be a revolution - but is it? Read our exclusive game to find out.

Square-Enix has confirmed that Grandia III will be released on PS2 in Japan on August 4, for 7980 yen. The highly anticipated RPG is expected to sell in big numbers and although a release outside Japan isn't confirmed it's alsmost certain.
Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory is (somewhat unsurprisingly) the third game in Ubisoft's premiere action stealth series. Sam Fisher is back for yet another world saving mission with a couple of new gadgets and several new locations. Graham Darko has spent quite a bit of time playing the game and fans of the series will be pleased to hear this is yet another superb title.

Just a quick reminder that there's only a week remaining to get your entries to win a copy of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Well, what are you waiting for?
Those lovely folks at QV Software have confirmed their releases for the next six months, with a couple of PS2 releases scheduled. SVC Chaos: SNK Vs Capcom is due out on the 15th May, however some stores including Games Warehouse are reporting it as being out already (see link below). Animaniacs: Great Edgar Hunt is due out on June 25th while fighting fans will be pleased to hear that King of Fighters 2002/2003 is due out on 10th July. September 1st should be exciting for Eye Toy fans with Rhythmic Star (Namco eye toy) due out while the best side scrolling shooters of all time Metal Slug 4 & 5 are coming out on September 22nd. Just remember dates are subject to change but there's quite a bit on the horizon.
Juiced 7.2 Trillion Car Modifications was a special feature we ran some time ago just prior to Acclaim's release, and then non-release, of the game. We've update the article with the latest information - as well as the latest screenshots straight from the vaults of new publisher THQ. Check this article out now.
May 9, 2005
Sega of America and Sega of Europe have confirmed that Shining Force Neo will be coming to America and Europe later this year. This is the first time the Shining Force series appears on the PS2 and will be welcomed by RPG gamers the world over.
This Weeks Releases
Another quiet week with only a couple of new games hitting the shelves. Here's what's available now:
Juiced was looking like a pretty solid racing game a week prior to it's Acclaim release - then it all went pear shaped. Acclaim have ceased to be but THQ quickly snapped up the rights to release this racing game. This updated preview contains the latest game screens and info including details on gameplay changes and additions.

Why is there a topic about Mother's Day here? Well I don't know. In recent times I've become more reflective about life - it tends to happen when you approach 30 years old. I just want to wish my mum (not that she even knows I run this site!) a very happy mother's day. I hope that everyone reading this site spends, at the very least, a bit of time thanking their mum for bringing them up in the world. Without them we wouldn't be here so make the most of the day.
2K Games has confirmed that they are developing the previously exclusive Top Spin tennis game for Playstation 2. The game will be shown at E3 for the first time and should be released in a couple of months time.
Super Monkey Ball DX is one of the most original titles in recent years on Gamecube and now PS2 oweners will not only play the original game, but also the sequel and dozens of entirely new levels. The game, which sees you controlling a monkey in a ball, is due out in a few weeks so there's just enough time to have a final look at this hot looking title.

Activision have confirmed that True Crime 2 will be released by the end of this year in America, and presumably in PAL territories too.
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith turned out to be a pretty good game by our reckoning, certainly one of the best movie tie-ins. By now I assume you've all read our world first and exclusive Episode III review. Now, thanks to Electronic Arts Australia we're one lucky read the chance to win a copy. Enter here!

Electronic Arts have confirmed that SSX4 is currently in development at EA Canada. Titled SSX On Tour the game is expected to take a different approach again - possibly with more of a world competition circuit. Expect a lot more details to be announced at E3.
THQ have announced that they are currently developing Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers for release in late 2005. The game will include improved AI and will be split across more then 12 levels. This is certian to be one of THQ's big E3 titles so expect to hear a lot more later this month.
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith may have one of the longest movie names ever, but there is little doubt about the impact it will have on millions of people worldwide when it hits cinemas on May 19th. As expected a game is being released to tie in with the events of the movie and we have a world first review!! Check it out and make sure you click on the link to enter the competition to win yourself a copy of the game!
May 4, 2005
Vivendi have confirmed that Scarface: The World Is Yours will be delayed until 2006 in order to be released on next generation, as well as current generation, consoles. The delay until next year is interesting as it is widely expected that the PS3 will launch in 2006. Could it be a launch title? Are Vivendi scared off my EA's stunning looking mob game, The Godfather. Expect to hear more from the E3 show.
Some good news today with Silverback Studios, with help from Fund4Games, has picked up the rights to continue development of Acclaim's Interview With A Made Man. Many of the team - 15 to be precise - were working for Acclaim's Manchester studio. The game is scheduled for release on unnamed platforms in 2006.
Tenchu Fatal Shadows is an impressive looking stealth action title. THQ have provided us with an Q&A session with the games developers in which they discuss the evolution of the title and reveal some details. It's a pretty good read so make sure you check it out. Perhaps more exciting is the news in our Future Gamez Forums under the Playstation 2, Tenchu topic. Check it out to see what's happening soon!

News from Japan is hinting at a merger between BanDai and Namco. Bandai is Japan's largest Toy maker and could bring a wide range of franchises to Namco's development teams. The merger is currently expected to take place in late September if everyone approves the merger.
The Regiment was only announced a couple of weeks ago, but with almost six months remaining this is already shaping up as one awesome title. Konami are going all out with this title, and it's actually the first game being developed by an external European developer. This is shaping up as a stunner.

This Weeks Releases
A fairly quiet week this week with only a couple of big titles, but also a few budget titles coming out. These games are available now:
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith is shaping up as the essential purchase for Star Wars fans. The game not only covers the events of the movie but also expands on them.
