    Site News
You may have noticed we've been a little quiet with updates of late, well it seems that in our mega storm that hit the Gold Coast on December 9 (last Tuesday) we lost both internet and phones. We have our phones back online now but Telstra have advised our Internet connection can't be looked at/resolved before December 22! ARGH indeed... So updates may be a little sporadic and it's pretty hard (Read: Impossible) to play online.

    Industry News
So we are all aware that last week a petition circulated that got Target to remove Grand Theft Auto V from sale in Australia (and subsequently K-Mart as well), well that petition (which you can see here) has now amassed 49,000 signatures - many of which are angry gamers responding to the petition, but have to sign it to comment. In response, someone put up a petition (a little tongue-in-cheek) to have the Bible removed from Target (they don't even sell it as far as we're aware), and somewhat amusingly this petition has now generated 50,000 signatures! Check it out here.

    PS4 News
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out in February and the developers have just released a new trailer called "Elder Blood". Needless to say, this looks spectacular.

Remember how Planetside 2 was touted as one of the big PS4 free-2-play (F2P) titles when announced in June 2013. Well it's been remarkably quiet since then, but it seems things are in motion as a Beta is now scheduled to start in the next few weeks. In fact you can sign up right here for a chance to enter the Closed Beta.

    Playstation Experience News
So prepare yourself for an onslaught of trailers today as Sony have today held their Playstation Experience conference which has come with a swag of big unveilings and announcements including news on Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, No Man's Sky, Final Fantasy VII (no, that's not a typo), The Order: 1886 and even a new David Jaffe PS4 exclusive title. There's a lot here, so let's get going...

First up, we simply can not go past the almost 16-minute gameplay video of Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: Among Thieves. Just to clarify, yes, this is in-game footage and it is indeed spectacular.

Next up we move onto Capcom's Street Fighter V which not only looks spectacular but will be a PS4 and PC exclusive title - and will include cross-platform play apparently. Enjoy the Gameplay Trailer...

That wasn't all from the franchise with the news that Ultra Street Fighter IV will be coming to PS4 in Q'2 2015 and will include all DLC costumes will be included in this PS4 exclusive release. Time for the trailers...

Indie game No Man's Sky has had people buzzing since stole the show at E3 this year, and there's a new Gameplay Trailer which runs for over 4 minutes. This remains one of the most exciting looking upcoming games due, umm, sometime next year we hope.

Gamers have been asking for it for years, a remake/re-release of Square-Enix's masterpiece Final Fantasy VII and today is the day folks... sort of. You see, the game is indeed coming to PS4 in Q'2 2015, but rather then a full remaster, this is a port of the PC game. Sooo ultimately it's nice that it's coming but also bitterly disappointing we're not getting a complete remake. Anyway, onto the trailer...

The Order: 1886 was a game we're sure Sony would have desperately loved we were all playing pre-Christmas, but it's due in February next year. Looking fantastic here's the latest Gamaplay Trailer.

David Jaffe, that wonderful chap behind franchises like God of War and Twisted Metal has a new game coming out called Drawn To Death which will be a PS4 exclusive. It looks very unique and hopefully very entertaining too...

So it's short, but here's a nice little teaser trailer for Supermassive Games' PS4 exclusive Until Dawn. It's dark, moody, and looks certain to scare the shit out of you in 2015!

Not sure that this release will make it to Australia, although hopefully it will pop up in the Store, but here's a trailer for MLB 15 The Show.

Another little moody horror game announced at the Playstation Experience was The Forest from Endnight Games. Don't know much about it but it is available on Steam Early Access and has been improved considerbly following fan feedback. In any case it certainly has gorgeous visuals...

Tim Schafer and his company Double Fine had some big announcements including the news that Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle is heading to PS4 and PSVita next year. Also both Acts of Broken Age will be released together on PS4 and PSVita. Classic game Grim Fandango Remastered is heading to PS4, with a January 27 release date. Old-school gamers rejoyce as here's the trailer.

One game that was tremendous fun, but failed to live up to the potential is Media Molecule's Tearaway on PSVita. Well more gamers will experience the title now as it's coming to PS4 as Tearaway: Unfolded. Hopefully the game finally gets the recognition it deserves...

Another new PS4 game announced is the Giant Sparrow title What Remains of Edith Finch which is umm, wierd and not due out until 2016. Just watch it..

Another neat, and rather obscure, looking game is this one, called Gang Beasts from Double Fine.

    Video Game Awards
So the 2014 Game Awards (previously know as the Spike VGA's) have been held and Dragon Age: Inquisition won Game of the Year (as well as best RPG unsurprisingly), while Far Cry 4 won best FPS, Shovel Knight got best Indie Game, Destiny got Best Online Experience and Soundtrack while Valiant Hearts: The Great War won best Narrative and Games for Change while Best Action/Adventure Game went to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

There were also a couple of Video game trailers shown including King's Quest...

Perhaps the biggest unveiling was that for Metal Gear Online which was introduced by the voice of Snake, Kiefer Sutherland, and the games creator Hideo Kojima. Just, enjoy... (btw gameplay starts at the 5:00 minute mark if you want to skip the intro)

From Software's Bloodborne is certain to be a hit when it releases early next year and a new Gameplay Trailer has been released which should impress a lot of gamers...

A new trailer for No Man's Sky was also shown and it still looks spectacular. Can't wait for this to be released.

One final game shown at the Awards was this Gravity-looking space title Adr1ft from threeonezero and 505 Games. Using Unreal Engine 4 and due in mid-2015 it looks pretty gorgeous.

    PS4 News
Yesterday Target announced they were removing Grand Theft Auto V from sale in Australia following a petition which sex workers posted a petition complaining that "this sickening game encourages players to commit sexual violence and kill women" (no mention you can pretty much kill anyone), well now K-Mart (who are also owned by Westfarmers like Target) has announced they are pulling the game from sale as well. While we understand the rights of companies to do what we want, it seems that some may be missing the point that the game is R18+ rated for a reason. This isn't a game for children, but remains one of the biggest games of all time. Other companies such as EB Games, Big W and Dick Smith are continuing to sell the game.

CEO of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick had the following to say on the matter:
We are disappointed that an Australian retailer has chosen no longer to sell Grand Theft Auto 5 – a title that has won extraordinary critical acclaim and has been enjoyed by tens of millions of consumers around the world.

Grand Theft Auto 5 explores mature themes and content similar to those found in many other popular and groundbreaking entertainment properties. Interactive entertainment is today’s most compelling art form and shares the same creative freedom as books, television, and movies. I stand behind our products, the people who create them, and the consumers who play them.

    PS4 Review
Lords of the Fallen is a game which unashamedly takes inspirtation from Dark Souls, but this ends up being a different game. It looks and sounds pretty good and is one which fans of the hack and slash genre may want to check out.

    PS4 Review
Transformers: Age of Extinction is the latest in Michael Bay's mega franchise. Indeed this fourth outing brings with it an entirely new human cast, but also plenty of new Transformers, as well as Dinobots. It's yet another entertaining film in the franchise.

    PS4 Review
Singstar: Ultimate Party is the first disc based release for a franchise that has been missing at retail for several years now. With the PS4 out now Sony have released their Ultimate Party compilation. It allows you to use Smartphones as mics, but ultimately it's a bitterly disappointing release.

Square Enix have today released two trailers, of sorts, for Final Fantasy XV which is in development for PS4. First up is the "Tech Demo Vol. 1" while the second trailer is a 10-minute "Walkthrough" which isn't too action packed, but does show off the scope of the world nicely. Enjoy...
