Indeed there has been. The official name is the Playstation Vita (PSV/PSVita) and the system will be released worldwide in fiscal 2011 according to Jack Tretton - that means somewhere before March 2012. It is rumoured Japan and Europe will see a release in late 2011, with Europe having to wait until early 2012 for the system to his the shelves.
