Well THQ and Capcom have unleashed this stunning follow up to last years hit title. With refined gameplay, more action and better puzzles this is a better title all round. Here's you place to voice your opinions.

Onimusha 2 has not let me down. I really enjoyed Warlords (Onimusha 1) and Onimusha 2 follows up nicely. O2 is full of gorgeous locations and the gameplay is more satisfying than before. I've heard many complaints that O2 uses many of the same locations used in O1. It does, but it's necessary to the story and serves only to link the two games together. There's no shortage of new locations and almost every screen is alive with movement. The water in Onimusha 2 looks more realistic than any water I've ever seen in any other game. I'm left wondering whether they've just looped and blended real video footage of creeks/rivers/waves lapping on the beach. It looks so real, it's difficult to believe that it is completely computer generated.
IMO, the gameplay in O2 owes a great deal to Capcom's Devil May Cry. Example: Kill the demons to collect the red things to power up your weapons which have elemental powers. Charge up your purple icons to become a demon warrior for a limited time. Avenge the death of your mother and get the girl who may or may not be working for the bad guys. Sound familiar?
I'm not saying this is a bad thing; DMC is a great game and the gameplay formula works, so why not? It doesn't feel the same when you play it, thanks to its distinct feudal Japan samurai atmosphere.
The big innovation in O2 is the sub character system. You can play as many as five different characters in one game, depending on your degree of friendship with each of them. This gives the game great replay value as different scenarios unfold depending on who your alliances are with. Whether the sub characters form close bonds with Jubei (the lead character) or not is determined by a complex gift trading system. You need to understand what each character's tastes are.
On my first play through, Oyu (the female warrior) fell madly in love with Jubei. Now, on my second play through I've given Oyu some dead flowers, a fish and a porno, just to make sure that the story unfolds differently this time.
There are many bonuses to unlock and I'll keep playing it until Vice City arrives. Sorry about the massive rant, but I'm fairly enthusiastic about this game.
