Well I hope you all read the review before buying this game. But if your impressions differ (if you have it) or you have something to say about it let us all know.

I think the NBA Jam phenomenon died a long time ago.

The phenomenom may have died a while ago but that doesn't mean the games can't be good. Are you saying that a game based on the Simpsons, South Park, or whatever else should be stopped. No way. And the series still has a lot of potential as was evidence in NBA Showtime on Dreamcast, a great game, and infinately better then this PS2 game.

No, that's not what I ment. They can keep making them, but less and less people will be interested. None of my gaming friends care about an new variant on the old formula, the arcade machines in my local arcade are gathering dust.
But doesn't the popularity of this topic tell you something?
The games are fun, I'll give them that, for about 5 mins.

i'm still interested in the b-ball arcade games. although i havent played Showtime or any others, still have NBA Hangtime on PC.
i was initially interested in Hoopz but after reading all the bad reviews and the promising previews for NBA Street i'm holding out for that one instead.

NBA live 2001 was rubbish on PS2 also, the best B Ball game is NBa 2k1 on dreamcast by Sega sports, i read that it's coming to the PS2 .Though NBA street looks pretty cool.

This game is way past its prime..
Wait for NBA Street from EA Sports Big.
Got to play this one at E3, and I loved it :) Graphics, sound, and most importantly gameplay are excellent.
